Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I'd be happy to hear views on my avatar. I was banned from another forum for insisting on my right to use it, and have been pestered online by others for using it Some people insist that it is a nazi symbol. I disagree. Certainly they used it but like the swastika, it was never "their" symbol. The Odin Rune ( my avatar) pre dates the nazi era by millennia. It is a pagan symbol from Northern Europe, denoting the cult of Odin, kinship and welcome, nothing more. If the Odin Rune is a nazi symbol because nazi's have used it, then surely the crucifix is a satanist symbol, because satanists have used the crucifix, as have the KKK also. Similarly, the flags of the USA and UK must be flags of extremist moslems, as they often use these flags to burn in their demonstrations and protests. Nobody would surely agree with much of the above, so why would they believe that the Odin Rune was anything other than as I have described it ? Quote
phreakwars Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I suppose if I was an uptight , self righteous, zealot it might offend me. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars

snafu Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 So you?re asking us if your avatar offends us but in the same breath you tell us what people perceive its meaning? I don?t give a shit what avatar you use; it?s who you are that I would determine you?re worth. Now of course other people might pre-judge you because of your choice of symbols but my contention is you?re looking for the shock response. Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 So you?re asking us if your avatar offends us but in the same breath you tell us what people perceive its meaning? . Yes I did say what some people perceive its meaning to be. Others wish to believe that I must be a nazi to use the symbol, which is untrue. I like the simplicity of the rune, nothing more. Quote
ToriAllen Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 ...but my contention is you?re looking for the shock response. I got that too... I like the simplicity of the rune, nothing more. I didn't know what it meant or was used for until you pointed it out. Don't really care either... Like Snafu says, it is all about what you say and how you present yourself. Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 my contention is you?re looking for the shock response. Not so Snafu. I had a long discussion with someone elsewhere who really believes that the Odin Rune is a Nazi symbol, which it is not. I just wondered what the folks in here thought. I dont accept that some johnny-come-lately (in this case the Nazis) can use someone else's symbol, and hey-presto- its theirs, and the rightful owner(s) are stripped of ownership. Its a nonsense argument, quite befitting fools such as shiek-yebouti, sheik-yerbooti, foxtrots-united, rose-hill and all their other little friends. Quote

But why connect yourself to something that the Nazi's apparently did use? The Rainbow has been around forever, but since the homosexual movement "borrowed" it as their logo, I acknowledge that it is their logo and if I wear it, then I am showing them support. Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 But why connect yourself to something that the Nazi's apparently did use? . I suppose I just dont like the pc brigade trying to organise the masses as well as myself. Those fuckers really annoy me. Here in the UK, we have even had kids coming home singing about rainbow sheep, rather than the ba ba black sheep nursery rhyme. Whatever next ? Will they soon want to re-name Blackpool Town, Rainbowpool Town? I can't imagine someone with dark hide really getting annoyed because of the black sheep kids rhyme, or Blackpool Town. And some people even seem to think that if they moan and whine enough, I and others will avoid historical cultural items such as Norse Runes. Well I say fuck those tossers and their narrow minded, holier than thou, whatever will the neighbours think, morons.. Quote

And the homosexuals have also taken some of our strongest names, such as Lance and Butch. The Bifrost bridge was supposedly multi-faceted with color, perhaps Heimdallr was gay.
