snafu Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Did I post this one before? I can't rember but it's a good code to live by REO Speedwagon - Live every Moment Live every moment - love every day 'Cus before you know it your precious time slips away. Live every moment - love every day 'Cause if you don't you might just throw your love away. I walked for seven miles this mornin'. Footprints in the sand. Washed away without a warning when the water hit the land. But I will walk on 'til I can no longer stand. I'll take you by the hand and we'll... Live every moment - love every day 'Cus before you know it your precious time slips away. There's water in the wind tonight. There's a chill in the air. It's coolin' down my skin tonight Soakin' through your hair. There's warmth enough within' tonight for both of us to share. We can take it anywhere. And we'll... Live every moment - love every day 'Cus before you know it your precious time slips away. Sometimes I wish we could take a trip far away. Leave all this trouble and heartache and pain for another day. I will search for that place but 'til I find it all I can say is... wez Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Land of Confusion Genesis I mustve dreamed a thousand dreams Been haunted by a million screams But I can hear the marching feet Theyre moving into the street. Now did you read the news today They say the dangers gone away But I can see the fires still alight There burning into the night. Theres too many men Too many people Making too many problems And not much love to go round Cant you see This is a land of confusion. This is the world we live in And these are the hands were given Use them and lets start trying To make it a place worth living in. Ooh superman where are you now When everythings gone wrong somehow The men of steel, the men of power Are losing control by the hour. This is the time This is the place So we look for the future But theres not much love to go round Tell me why, this is a land of confusion. This is the world we live in And these are the hands were given Use them and lets start trying To make it a place worth living in. I remember long ago - Ooh when the sun was shining Yes and the stars were bright All through the night And the sound of your laughter As I held you tight So long ago - I wont be coming home tonight My generation will put it right Were not just making promises That we know, well never keep. Too many men Theres too many people Making too many problems And not much love to go round Cant you see This is a land of confusion. Now this is the world we live in And these are the hands were given Use them and lets start trying To make it a place worth fighting for. This is the world we live in And these are the names were given Stand up and lets start showing Just where our lives are going to. That week you put up the disturbed version of this I was thinking about posting this. This old vid is crazy. I remember it on MTV in 80's when I was a teen. Ends with Ronnie (Big Government) Reagan pushing THE button at the end. Good song. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MzShg7yXik]YouTube - Land Of Confusion - Genesis[/ame] Hahahahaha.. I like the monkey. The "Bedtime for Bonzo" movie reference. I like the monkey too. Several of my friends didn't get it. As for Mtv, it's sad that they had to create Mtv2 to see videos. I remember in the 80's, I would go out for the weekend and record Headbanger's Ball. I loved that program. Glad they have it on Mtv2. I DVR it sometimes but it's not as good as it was back then. Mtv then got so many complaints about not showing videos that they had to create a new channel for just videos, Mtv2. As for OK go. This is a great story. ImWithStupid Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 OK Go - Here It Goes Again lyrics It could be ten, but then again, I can't remember half an hour since a quarter to four. Throw on your clothes, the second side of Surfer Rosa, and you leave me with my jaw on the floor. Just when you think you're in control, just when you think you've got a hold, just when you get on a roll, here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again. Oh, here it goes again. I should have known, should have known, should have known again, but here it goes again. Oh, here it goes again. It starts out easy, something simple, something sleazy, something inching past the edge of the reserve. Now through lines of the cheap venetian blinds your car is pulling off of the curb. Just when you think you're in control, just when you think you've got a hold, just when you get on a roll, here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again. Oh, here it goes again. I should have known, should have known, should have known again, but here it goes again. Oh, here it goes again. I guess there's got to be a break in the monotony, but Jesus, when it rains how it pours. Throw on your clothes, the second side of Surfer Rosa, and you leave me, yeah, you leave me. Oh, here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again. Oh here it goes again. I should have known, should have known, should have known again, but here it goes again. Oh, here it goes again. I agree with that, but put a share of the blame on the artists. Videos used to be cool. Look at that Genesis video. It is creative, it took effort. It isn't just Phil Collins and the guys walking around their house, or showing off their "bling." Some used to be little mini-movies that could last longer than the song it was for. I think of the Thriller video, Dire Straits "Mony for Nothing", Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher", and tons and tons of other quality videos. I completely agree. We used to have music video directors that would go on to major tv and movie directors. (Hell John Landis did Michale Jackson's Thriller, and had done Animal House and American Werewolf In London.) As for FB Slims vid, it had two things going for it. 1 = Good music, 2 = Chris Walken is a f'n Stud. Quote

Meatloaf - Paradise by the dashboard Lights I. Paradise Boy: I remember every little thing As if it happened only yesterday Parking by the lake And there was not another car in sight And I never had a girl Looking any better than you did And all the kids at school They were wishing they were me that night And now our bodies are oh so close and tight It never felt so good, it never felt so right And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife C'mon! Hold on tight! C'mon! Hold on tight! Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night I can see paradise by the dashboard light Girl: Ain't no doubt about it We were doubly blessed Cause we were barely seventeen And we were barely dressed Ain't no doubt about it Baby got to go and shout it Ain't no doubt about it We were doubly blessed Boy: Cause we were barely seventeen And we were barely dressed Baby doncha hear my heart You got it drowning out the radio I've been waiting so long For you to come along and have some fun And I gotta let ya know No you're never gonna regret it So open up your eyes I got a big surprise It'll feel all right Well I wanna make your motor run And now our bodies are oh so close and tight It never felt so good, it never felt so right And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife C'mon! He's gonna slide in head first, here he comes, he's out! No, wait, safe--safe at second base, this kid really makes things happen out there. Batter steps up to the plate, here's the pitch-- he's going, and what a jump he's got, he's trying for third, here's the throw, it's in the dirt-- safe at third! Holy cow, stolen base! He's taking a pretty big lead out there, almost daring him to try and pick him off. The pitcher glance over, winds up, and it's bunted, bunted down the third base line, the suicide squeeze in on! Here he comes, squeeze play, it's gonna be close, here's the throw, there's the play at the plate, holy cow, I think he's gonna make it! II. Let Me Sleep On It Girl: Stop right there! Look around and choose your own ground. Long you live and high you fly smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be. Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, FORGET the sun, And when at last the work is done Don't sit down it's time to dig another one. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can And when I come home cold and tired Its good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
