Pastor Fred Phelps is a Calvanist preacher, the belief behind this doctrine is pre-destination.

OK.

 

There are different types of pre-destination theology however the basic theme is the same and Phelps pre-destination theology is explained like this.

God picks his elect(those whom he chooses to save) and draws them to Christ when he decides to call them, these chosen ones will go to Heaven.

Phelps believes that both he and the WBC members are among the elect although he has stated in the past that there are sheep(elect) not yet called otherwise the rapture(Ascension) would have happened.

Phelps believes that most people are pre-destined to go to hell, especially Fags and as he calls them Fag enablers.

If they are predestined for Hell, then why is he wasting his time picketting and setting up websites and the like? Just a question, I know that there are apparent contradictions to spiritualities that really aren't, but I need an explanation to this question.

 

According to Phelps homosexuals cannot be saved because they can't even bring themselves to admit that what they are doing is a sin.

Again, what's the point? If they are going to hell, then why all the fuss? If I believed that way I would relax and let them go on to hell in peace and at least they could enjoy their time on earth without me causing them problems... Please, in all seriousness, tell me where my error lies.

 

As far as Phelps is concerned a nation has already been given up by God once it goes down the road of ancient Sodom and furthermore homosexuals were given up by God before they partook of their sins due to their own personal depravity.

If I may...

 

For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23) Everyone is a sinner. Me, You, Phreak, Vortex, Osama Bin Laden and Pope John Paul II... and everyone else in the world.

 

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom 6:23) Phelps is right about one thing. We are all going to hell, except for those who except Christ as their saviour... Saviour from what? You know what... Jesus saves us from Sin.

 

The next question is who qualifies for this salvation...

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) It is my belief "whosoever" encompasses every man, woman and child on the planet... including fags, muslims, pimps, whores, drug addicts, preachers, lawyers, firemen, soldiers, Ham-Head, AIG, and everyone else in the world.

 

Your next question is can they be saved without forsaking homosexuality. I think you need figure out whether homosexuality is a sin or not first. Paul tells us that whatever we believe is sin, is sin for us but not necessarily for everybody else.

In fact, it seems that Christ came to deliver from the law... So how do we know what sin is?

 

First let's look at who convicts of sin
