I saw this gal on television singing, "Put Your Records On". Amazing. Went out and bought the CD the next day. Lovely lovely music.

Edit:

OK Ok... so brevity appears to be a review faux pas.

(Music tastes are so supremely individual and often surprising. The other day a big Strappin Manly Firefighter said, "yeah! put on The Carpenters! I love them!" I just about choked from laughing.)

The music of Corinne struck me as a blending of Rickie Lee Jones, Ray Charles & Norah Jones. If you like those folks, you'll probably enjoy Corinne.

Whilst Tivoing through a program, I stopped at this new singer, Corinne. As she began to sing, my daughter and I started exchanging looks. Smiling...nodding...ohhhhh yeah. Here's a new one for us. Here's ... a winner. She is such a doll. I believe I would have liked her music at first listen, but seeing her perform simply sold the deal on the spot. She's a happy little thing. Oh Lord. She seemed like she was enjoying herself so much, and that smile -she sings with this light and delightful smile - playful - it was wonderful. So much so that I put the show on a VCR tape to play for some friends at work. She's still on my TiVo if you want to come over for a look-see.

I buy very few Cds these days. But we went out and bought her's the next day. Ten bucks at Best Buy. So yeah, she's a bargain. Then the other day I'm in Starbucks and who's CD is the Flavor of the Month? Corinne's. I didn't bother to look to see what they're gettin for her.

Three times through the CD, and I'm a fan forever. I wake up hearing the songs in my head. "Like a Star" .. make a cuppa tea and sway to it. "Put Your Records On" - do dishes all day dancin to this one.

The entire CD is great. I'm no music critic. I just know when I like what I hear.

The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. - Buddha
