snafu Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 What will be the demise of mankind and the world as we know it? Will it be an asteroid, or comet? How about a super earthquake or mega volcano? Will man destroy it’s self with nuclear or biological weapons? Will nature itself come up with a new strain of an incurable plague, pandemics? Okay I’m guilty of watching way too much History Channel but it concerns me. During the cold war Russia was in the process of making a strain of the smallpox that we would have no vaccines for. A lot of it is not accounted for. We made butt loads of anthrax, risin and the like ourselves. http://www.armageddononline.org/hypothetical_disaster.php\ http://www.sierratimes.com/cgi-bin/warroom/topic.cgi?forum=6&topic=39 http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/9708/22/unstoppable.germ/ http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1590/is_12_59/ai_99697778 http://www.mapsofworld.com/major-volcanoes.htm It’s not if but when Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. wez Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Although many people will die at the hands and doings of other people, our government being the most concerning as we are the kings of mass destruction, as well as disease and the like, I think the last that will go will be due to biological changes in the Earths environment. Our only hope is to leave the nest... Quote

snafu Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 Though I don?t believe it will be the total demise of the world I think the first major catastrophe will come in the form of a chemical and or biological attack. RegisteredAndEducated Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Nah. It'll be volcanic eruption in 2013. All of the volcanoes in the world will go off at once. There will be very few survivors. Quote Intelligent people think... how ignorance must be bliss.... idiots have it so easy, it's not fair... to have to think... WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO BE AMONG THOSE FORTUNATE MASSES..... Hey, "Non-believers" I've just got one thing to say to ya... If you're right, then what difference does it make, it wont matter when we're dead anyway... But if I'm right... Well, hey... Ya better be right...

wez Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 A giant polar bear, enraged by global warming, will eat everyone by 5-20-2021. Hahahahaha... if "they", the polar bears, make it til then... I remember seeing not long ago that polar bears were drowning, for the first time ever, due to retreating ice caps. Quote
ImWithStupid Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 A comet will collide with the earth killing most of the people. Those that survive the comet and the cooling temps will be wiped out by the tsunamis, the volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, mudslides and avalanches. Anyone that survives all that will succumb to the super-virus that was carried from space on the comet. Quote
timesjoke Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I am betting the bacteria issue will take down many societies in the next 50 years. There have already been many studies showing how all the anti-bacterial soaps and stuff are breeding stronger versions of bacteria able to withstand these products. As time goes by, we will lose the ability to fend off these stronger bacteria and many people will either get stronger immune systems or die. Quote
