wez Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Right track? What are you babbling about? In the air that bad in Denver? There is no "right track for the species", wez. Life is a series of chaotic, uncontrollable events. What we do to prepare for them is existing and what we do to better ourselves is flourishing. Let me ask you R.O.... what made you think I was from Denver? My phone line is Qwest, based in Denver.... Quote

RoyalOrleans Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Fuckers prolly already sold my soul to some prick in India. Ok... great response. I am not a racist, at all, despite some of the posts I jokingly make. However, my one true, unadulterated prejudice is against Far Easterners. RobertY7 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I like science as a way of explaining things... Its real and unadulterated. I don't believe or base my life on the stories in a book written after civilization had started (although primitive). The bible seems to me as though it is a primitive law book put into place when Moses could not control the masses he was moving across the desert. Religion as a rule by fear works, because lemmings always jump off the cliff, you just have to kick them in the ass to get em started. (OK, fine...If you kick a lemming in the ass you'll prolly kill it but you get the point). Secular Humanism to me is a way to hold on to somethign when you lack the rigorous intellect capable of processingyour own experiences and thoughts into solid moral groundings. Going to church is like going to school: It teaches you a whole lot of useful things, but not how to use them. GOD religion pisses me off... Rule by fear plays on every Human beings biggest fear. Anyone guess? Quote

Kryptonite Man Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 RO, that is perfectly logical in spite of RobertY7's idiotic assertions to the contrary. Quote I'm a liberal's worst nightmare. A black man with a brain!
somersetcace1 Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 The creation of Israel as a state may be controversial, but the original post in this thread is dead on about the "history" of Palestine. There was never a nation, a government, currency, culture, etc of "palestine." It is also true that the Arabs created the refugee problem by not allowing the refugees to enter other arabic countries. They knew that if they left them out in the desert, they could use them to keep the issue alive. Problem is, now they are not refugees..They are a people. I don't know the percentage, but I believe most of the population were born into that situation. So, they are no longer refugees, but now, a rather large group of displaced people. On the other hand...The british owned the land, but they DID promise that land to the Arabs for helping them during the war, only to go back on the offer and give it to the jews via the partition agreement. Arabs DO have a reason to be pissed off over the creation of Israel. Okay, so now...what do we do about it? No one seems to have a reasonable answer. Israel is not going away, and the Arabs simply will not rest until they do....hmmm That's a problem. What about Jeruselum? Even if we managed to work out this land issue, control of Jeruselum is still an issue that I see no solution for. It is my opinion, that even if you uplifted the entire city and moved it to Mars, they would still camp out on the crater edge, fighting over the right to be there. This problem isn't going away anytime soon, and it's clear that no one has the answer. Peace doesn't work...War doesn't work. Life goes on. Quote
