wez Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Apparently, a 300# Siberian tiger killed one poor young kid and mauled 2 others at the San Francisco zoo the other day. Poilice are treating it as a crime scene as they have no idea how it could have escaped and there's speculation that someone may have let it out. The cage door was closed when they checked and I find it hard to believe it all the sudden leaped over a 20 foot moat and an 18 ft. high wall.. Something stinks. I think the employees with access are gonna get the third degree, and rightfully so... Plus, the cat was obviously shot and killed, which also sucks. eddo Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Same cat bit of a ZooKeepers arm right at a year ago. I'm guessing he didn't like being wished "Merry Christmas"... Quote I'm trusted by more women.

I saw that.. perhaps zoos were'nt the greatest idea in the world, lock me a cage and let people gawk and taunt me and I'd prolly attack a few people too if freed... There was an excellent twilight zone where some aliens came and grabbed some humans and deceived them and at the end of the episode wound up in the "earthling in their natural habitat exhibit".. Great show.. Quote
wez Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Apparently the fence wasn't that high.. I think I heard 12 1/2 feet on the news now.. Could be possible nto jump, but out of water? Prolly not, depending on how deep it was. Quote
eddo Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I have also heard that the victom may have been taunting the tiger- as there was a shoe and some blood beyond the safety railing. Quote I'm trusted by more women.
Feckless Wench Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Strikes me that this cat is not safe to keep around people, either caged or otherwise. Sadly it would not survive if released into the wild either....looks like the only choice would be total enclosure or a one way ticket 'elsewhere' Quote Dementia is just a state of mind.
