snafu Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 You guys know I'm slow so don't give me no but I just found this Fox Game Trax. FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Game Trax I really haven't been following football. Not since the Joe Montana and Jerry Rice days. Jhony5 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I'm praying for snow in New England this weekend. If this happens, the Jags might run the Pats over. I hate New England so bad.....don't even get me f cking started on that sh t. As for next week, in my opinion the best week of all (Divisional Championship Weekend) due to the enormity of the games as well as the amount of games played. Game #1 Jacksonville AT: New England I'm taking Jax if the whether is inhospitable, raining or snowing. Otherwise, they don't have the passing game to match the pats. Game #2 N.Y. AT: Dallas Dallas. I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas screws up and loses. But I see way more screw ups coming from NY this season. Game #3 Seattle AT: Green Bay Packers all the way. I love Favre. I've watched him play since his first pass in the NFL. A pass that he caught, oddly enough. Tis true, look it up. Game #4 San Diego AT: Indianapolis . Indy will rape them. I see Manning sitting at the start of the fourth. Easy. All home teams this week. But, there is always an upset. The only upset I see is NY over Dallas. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.

DaMan Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Corrected. For some reason I thought Jax played Indy in which case I think Jax wins since no team beats another 3 times in a season. In any case San Diego is on a hot streak and I think they go all the way. Quote

In any case San Diego is on a hot streak and I think they go all the way. Hot streak? Not quite. They barely beat an inept Tennessee team after a short sided slew of sketching out wins against losing teams. There is no way they are coming here and winning a game. Not gonna happen. Not that I'm biased or anything. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
ImWithStupid Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Right now I'm just going off of what I believe will happen. Since I obviously don't have a dog in the fight, since I am a lowly Rams fan, as for who goes all the way, I hope Indy does it again. I was rooting for them last year, as I finally acknowledged that Peyton was a pretty good QB even though Nebraska kicked his butt when he was a senior at Tennessee. I just didn't want retard Rex to Forrest Gump his way to a Super Bowl Championship. This year, even though it would be great to never have to hear from the obnoxious '72 Dolphins again, I would like to see Indy repeat. If the '07 Dolphins had gone winless, I would be rooting for the Pats. Quote
Jhony5 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 As of now, I am content. The playoffs this year will be all pleasure for me. If Indy doesn't make the big show, I will be only minimally disappointed. I am looking forward to a late January match-up at Foxboro. That will be my personal Superbowl. After 25 years, I finally got to see my vaunted Colts team play in, and win, the championship. Good 'nuff. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
wez Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 I'm pulling for the Pats.. I think they are a classy team and the epitome of what an NFL team should look like. They obviously keep each others ego's in check around there. I love seeing Randy Moss just hand the ball to a ref after scoring ala Barry Sanders.. Cept when he broke the record for TD receptions in a season and spiked it, getting a penalty. What a year.. Go Pats!! Sorry Jhony. Quote

Jhony5 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I"]a classy team [/b']and the epitome of what an NFL team should look like. Classy team? Thats a joke right? The only team in the history of the league to get caught using a video camera to cheat. Belichick never humbled himself by properly explaining why he cheated, nor did he apologize. He gave Dungy the cold shoulder after the week 9 game this year, turning his back and walking away when Dungy reached his hand out for a shake. And then the Pats set about repeatedly going for it on 4th down when they were up by an excess of 30 points late in the fourth and within field goal range. They got caught cheating and then proceeded to play the entire season with a "F ck 'em all" attitude. Lets hope in this copy cat league that this doesn't become the standard method of operation. I agree that the respect and lack of civility that Belichck showed was less then anything approaching, "class". People call him a c0cky, ass. I'll agree that he's an ass, but as for c0cky. In the words of Kid Rock, "It's only c0cky if you can't back it up". So far he's backed it up. The whole cheating thing was much ado about nothing in my opinion. I'd be willing to bet that if they put as much energy into that as they are steroids in baseball, you'd find every team is doing it. I think it's a stupid rule anyway. You can't video tape signals, but there is nothing stopping you from assigning someone to sit with binoculars and write down the signals. It's a technicality and although I understand that Roger Goodell is trying to clean up the league and use people as examples, I feel the punishment was excessive. 1/2 mil from Belichick, 1/4 mil from the Pats and a first round draft pick for something that everyone is doing is a bit much. And then the Pats set about repeatedly going for it on 4th down when they were up by an excess of 30 points late in the fourth and within field goal range. There is nothing wrong with this. This is a professional sports team. There is no such thing as running up the score in pro football. The all get paid very well to do their jobs. It's your job to stop me from scoring, not my job to quit trying to keep from hurting your feelings. I'll go against obvious, running up the score in the NCAA, but not the pros. Quote
