ImWithStupid Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 From what I was always under the impression of, it starts with the US Constitution Article I, Section 8. Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; LII: Constitution Quote

phreakwars Posted January 23, 2008 Author Posted January 23, 2008 From what I have been told, this is unconstitutional, and infact, there are several former IRS workers, who now no longer pay income tax because they know themselves there is no law requiring you to pay that tax...hmm... is this a rumor or true? . . wez Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Don't you pay a water and sewer bill where you live? Hahaha.. indeed I do.. Sewer bills been rising around these parts too.. I've heard that too Bender.. I actually know someone who tried it, he's now declared bankruptcy and owes the IRS a bundle as bankruptcy doesn't wipe out tax debt or student loans. Poor fool.. Quote

My ex girlfriends two brothers are both also in trouble with the IRS. Ones been paying for years and prolly will til death. The other had yet to get caught by the feds but the State was on his ass and it's only a matter of time. Both had no withholding taken for years as they did siding and just kept all the money rather than tuck 30% away for taxes every year. I don't think one filed a return for a decade.. He's screwed.. Thing is, niether one can participate in mainstream financial activities. No bank accounts, no property, no credit, nothing.. One couldn't rent an apartment.. He's freakin 35 years old.. They'll take it from them and they know it until they clear the debt.. It never goes away. Penelties are quite severe and I don't think it takes that long and $50,000 is $500,000.. Quote

Actually, we've sold our debt to mainly the Chinese, and other international morons who snapped up all those bundled mortgages that are going bust. Jhony5 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 It is a very complex law. Originally enacted during the civil war, amended and later reinstated in 1913. It is indeed a law, however. All taxable income shall be taxed federally and even locally in some cases. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
