The reporting isn't because anyone is too afraid of you to say it to your face, as you imply, it is to keep the bickering off of the board.

 

It is pretty obvious that some of us cannot handle our bickering without it spilling over onto everything, so this way a mod can view it and make a determination without the constant crap about it.

 

Honestly, I like it. It will take some getting used to, but as long as the rules are applied to everyone equally, there won't be a thing for any of us to gripe about. it might be a little hairy at first for IWS, but in the long run it should make this a better p[lace to be.

I know that I have had given warnings and requests to change conduct to several members on this board, both in the thread and by PM. Most every time these have been replied to in an understanding way and the members responded with positive attempts to assess the issue.

When you report a post, a post is made in the admin area and it links right to the offending post: so to the admins- it is all in the open. They can see exactly what the offended party is referring to, and can then make up their own minds.

 

Wez, you have never liked situations with you being handled publicly, or at least that is how you came off. You get angry, bitter, and take the "fight" all over the board- thus resolving nothing.

This could easily be done. For now we'll see how the system works. If we see people reporting others for revenge, I think myself, Bender and IWS are smart enough to know when someone steps over the line or when someone is abusing the system.

 

If it is being used in a way not intended them the 3 of us will discus making the report forum open to registered members so the accuser and accusee can discus this i out in the open. Another possibility is allowing access to the person reporting and person being reported. The system is flexible and since we never used it before we are all learning.

How about we make a fresh start. Forget everything else in the past. We all say and do things we might later want to take back but seeings how this is a typed forum it's pretty hard to do it.

Nothing concerning me at the Jungle was ever held in the open.. Manipulators are the only ones that like closed doors..

 

For example... a complaint was made against me.. sure, I was a smartass and the admins can see the post and decide.. but did the complainant include the killer comments from themselves naming me in this post before I ever replied to it in their case file? I highly doubt it..

 

 

Here's where it becomes.. "squeaky wheel gets the grease".. I aint no squeaky wheel and don't plan on becoming one..

 

I know that I personally and I believe that Cloaked and Bender, follow the link to the offending post. I then go through the series of events that led up to the reported post.

 

Like I said if there is signs that flaming or bickering was going on by both persons, that isn't conductive to civil debate or the topic at hand, and one of the parties involved uses reporting another as a tactic to get back at another, it could result in both/all offending members receiving discipline or censure. If it is deemed to be one sided, action will be directed at the member that is determined to be the offending party.
