timesjoke Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Was your type ENTJ, TJ? I have to say, it has me pegged pretty close, I underlined a few that were very much me: The Portait of the Supervisor (ESTJ) Supervisor Guardians are squarely on the side of rules and procedures, and they can be quite serious about seeing to it that others toe the mark-or else face the consequences. They do not hesitate to give their stamp of approval, nor do they withhold their directions or suggestions for improvement. Like seasoned, stalwart umpires, Supervisors will set their jaw and make the call on anyone who steps up to bat. They even feel obligated to do so, and they're sometimes surprised when others don't seem grateful for being set straight. Comprising at least ten percent of the population, Supervisors go by experience and that is what counts, not speculation and experimentation, and certainly not fantasy. They keep their feet firmly on the ground and make sure that those under their supervision do the same, whether employee, subordinate, offspring, or spouse. If others wish to fool around and daydream, fine, as long as they do it on their own time-which means after the job is done. But if they fritter away their time while on duty, they should not be surprised when the Supervisor calls them on the carpet. The top sergeant will not put up with such nonsense. Supervisors are gregarious and civic-minded, and are usually key players of their community. They are generous with their time and energy, and very often belong to a variety of groups, supporting them through steady attendance, but also taking a vocal leadership role. Indeed, membership groups of all kinds attract Supervisors like magnets, perhaps because membership satisfies in some degree their need to maintain the stability of social institutions. Like all the Guardians, Supervisors worry a good deal about society falling apart, morality decaying, standards being undermined, traditions being lost, and they do all they can to preserve and to extend the institutions that embody social order. Supervisors are so in tune with the established institutions and ways of behaving within those institutions, that they have a hard time understanding those who might wish to abandon or radically change them. Jack Webb, Judge Judy, Dr. Laura Schlesiger, George Washington, Sandra Day O' Connor, Mike Wallace, and Vince Lombardi are examples of a Supervisor Guardians. Quote

Established institutions and tradition stinks... And if they dont, you need to prove it to me with logic because they will be challenged.. annoyingly so. Pretty funny though TJ.. My profile could be my resume.. I think it's clear where we bash heads.. And possibly gain a respect for where each other is coming from. Like I told eddo.. toe your own line, no prob, tie a line to my toe and drag me around, gonna be some issues. All your " or else consequences" must be applied to you first and foremost. Why should people walk your line if you are unwilling to walk it yourself? Actions = words.. no other way. Gotta be in sync. For me anyways.. Quote

And even if you toe your line with 100% nonhypocritical actions in line with your words, the choice is for individuals to make for themselves whether to toe your line or not. We lead by example. In the last 20 years, I can only remember missing 5 days of work that were not scheduled, there are not too many people that can claim that. I can claim 12 years without missing even 1 day. Owning your own biz aint always what it's cracked up to be.. Good to be a student. Never missed a day on my paper route either. Even though I couldn't move without excruciating pain.. I respect hard workers. That's awsome TJ.. Lots of people miss more than that in a month. I posted a vid on the lyrics thread you may like TJ.. check it out. Good song, nice vid. wez Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 They can talk their way in or out of anything Today at school, after all the tests, some of us were talking about our interviews, which was the final step for admittance to the nursing program. Some were saying how nervous they were and that they advised others that will be doing it to have a lot of stuff to talk about planned out beforehand. I then said that mine was really short and good. I told them that the interviewers, 2 from the nursing dept, kept telling me before the next questions they had worked out that I had already answered them but if I wanted to elaborate I could. I did a little bit, but not much. At the end when they asked if I had any questions for them I said no, I don't think I do, and thanked them and that was it. This girl says to me.. " I think you could talk your way into anything. You have such a nice voice". I said thank you.. If she was only 10 years older I'd think about trying to talk my way into her pants. Quote

wez Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Hahahaha... the further I look, the better it gets. ENFPs are curious, enthusiastic, friendly, energetic and fun-loving people who seek meaning in what they do. They are unconventional, irrelevant and are seldom impressed by authority and rules. They believe nothing is impossible and enjoy dealing with possibilities and ideas. They don't like to focus their attention on any one thing, like schoolwork or chores. ENFPs usually have many friends and keep most of their friends for life. They are perceptive, insightful and empathetic. ENFPs can usually sense other's hidden motives, and can also convince people to do anything for them. ENFPs are procrastinators who have difficulty making most decisions and dislike working alone. Any decision an ENFP is able to make will most likely be based on their strong personal values. They are warm, caring concerned people, but also are very sensitive and take things personally. ENFPs are deeply committed to their friends and will sacrifice their own needs for them. They are usually very cheerful, but withdrawn when hurt or overwhelmed. ENFPs love being around people, and will talk to and feel sympathy for most everyone. In their speech, ENFPs use many metaphors and humor and speak very quickly. They swear more than most of the other types and use many colorful, if irrelevant stories to emphasize their points. They are very eloquent and can convince anyone of anything. They also know just what words to use to motivate different people. ENFPs ask many questions, especially when they first meet a person. In dress, they usually have an original, arty style and dress only to please themselves. They are very sensitive and sentimental, with unique insights which they generally only share with a few close friends. ENFPs are the most optimistic of all the types, and can see people's potential for caring and work to bring it out. They have great faith in their abilities to identify with people, and are often asked to help solve other's problems. This can be hard on an ENFP because their emotional state is often dependent on those of others around them. They are very generous with their time and advice and are willing to help anyone who asks. ENFPs tend to be a little naive, thinking that people should do things because they are right. Only irrelevent to those incapable of comprehension.. That's what the swearing is for.. hahahaha I don't speak quickly, do I? Who asks questions? Not me... ENFPs hate bureaucracy, both in principle and in practice; they will always make a point of launching one of their crusades against some aspect of it. bull .. not me. Is it? Naive? Yeah, right... no ones told me that before.. To damn funny... Quote
wez Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Who the hell makes a personality profile and can go as deep as claiming, "they swear more than most people", and be right? Hahahahahahahaha I'll work on that.. Quote

ToriAllen Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I'm an INTP as well. What is funny is this is one of the rarest of the 16 personality types, but sites like this seem to attract us. IN's are rare in general. Most people in the US are ES's. This is the most accurate free test I've found: Personality Test Center - Discover your personality type. This site has good descriptions: The Personality Type Portraits My type...and Feck's...and Ali's: INTP – 1% of the population General description: INTP’s see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge. They are the "absent-minded professors", who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions. They approach problems and theories with enthusiasm and skepticism, ignoring existing rules and opinions and defining their own approach to the resolution. They hate to work on routine things - they would much prefer to build complex theoretical solutions, and leave the implementation of the system to others. They like being the architect of a plan, because of the scheming and thinking involved, far more than being the implementer of that plan. Implementation tends to be drudgery. When their projects are of interest to them, they can become mesmerized and may even work through the night. When their projects are not intriguing, their work is considered a chore, and the INTP finds it difficult to stay motivated. The drive to understand things that are not yet understood is a very powerful force in the life of an INTP. The INTP will become quickly bored with anything that he has successfully analysed to the point of understanding it. Once they have found the answer, they do not often share it because the answer is obvious, and documenting the obvious is redundant. This attitude includes a tendency not to response or speak up in groups, because the INTP feels that what he or she was going to say seems so obvious that no one would want to hear it. INTPs exhibit the greatest precision in thought and language of all the types; they tend to see distinctions and inconsistencies in thought and language instantaneously. INTPs are very tolerant and flexible in most situations, unless one of their firmly held beliefs has been violated or challenged, in which case they may take a very rigid stance. The INTP is likely to be very shy when it comes to meeting new people. On the other hand, the INTP is very self-confident and gregarious around people they know well, or when discussing theories which they fully understand. The INTP may have a problem with self-aggrandizement and social rebellion. The INTP is usually very independent, unconventional, and original. They usually have complex characters, and may tend to be restless and temperamental. INTP Relationships: INTPs are not likely to have a very large circle of significant relationships in their lives. They're much more likely to have a few very close relationships, which they hold in great esteem and with great affection. They tend to be difficult to get to know well, and hold back parts of themselves until the other person has proven themselves "worthy" of hearing the INTP's thoughts. Once the INTP has committed themself to a relationship, they tend to be very faithful and loyal, and form affectionate attachments which are pure and straight-forward. The INTP has no interest or understanding of game-playing with regards to relationships. However, if something happens which the INTP considers irreconciliable, they will leave the relationship and not look back. INTPs detest facades and particulary dislike people who exhibit them. Love: Although they choose to keep things straight-forward in their relationships, this does not mean that the INTP is lacking in depth of feeling or passion. For the INTP, love has three distinct phases: falling in, staying in, and getting out. When an INTP falls in love, he or she falls hard - an all or nothing phenomenon characterized as a stage of complete loss of rationality. As relationships progress to the staying-in-love phase, INTPs may withdraw because they are moving toward their more customary inward style. Falling out of love: Often an undefined line is crossed that neither partner knows about ahead of time. However, the INTP knows after the line has been crossed, and then the relationship deteriorates or ends. If the INTP shares some common interests with the former loved one, the relationship continues but on a different level. When INTPs have a reason to continue relationships, they do. As Parents: INTPs love and respect Knowledge. Their greatest goal and satisfaction as a parent is seeing their children grow into independent, rational adults. INTP parents are likely to encourage their children to grow as individuals, rather than attempt to fit them into a preconceived mold. They will stress autonomy through the children's growth. They're likely to respect their children's opinions and wishes, and allow their children to have a voice and presence in the family. INTP Strengths • They feel love and affection for those close to them which is almost childlike in its purity • Generally laid-back and easy-going, willing to defer to their mates • Approach things which interest them very enthusiastically • Richly imaginative and creative • Do not feel personally threatened by conflict or criticism • Usually are not demanding, with simple daily needs INTP Weaknesses • Not naturally in tune with others' feelings; slow to respond to emotional needs • Not naturally good at expressing their own feelings and emotions • Tend to be suspicious and distrusting of others • Not usually good at practical matters, such as money management, unless their work involves these concerns • They have difficulty leaving bad relationships • Tend to "blow off" conflict situations by ignoring them, or else they "blow up" in heated anger • May find it impossible to study without quiet or concentration • May lack social supports • May get consumed by favorite courses and ignore all the others • May put off writing until they read everything available on the topic • May frustrate roommates who need casual conversation; abhor small talk Edit: Percentages from the test: Your Type is INTP Introverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 89 88 62 22 Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others. mercury Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 ENFP Extraverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 1 25 38 44 The Inspirer As an ENFP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in primarily via your intuition. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system. ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it. ENFPs have an unusually broad range of skills and talents. They are good at most things which interest them. Project-oriented, they may go through several different careers during their lifetime. To onlookers, the ENFP may seem directionless and without purpose, but ENFPs are actually quite consistent, in that they have a strong sense of values which they live with throughout their lives. Everything that they do must be in line with their values. An ENFP needs to feel that they are living their lives as their true Self, walking in step with what they believe is right. They see meaning in everything, and are on a continuous quest to adapt their lives and values to achieve inner peace. They're constantly aware and somewhat fearful of losing touch with themselves. Since emotional excitement is usually an important part of the ENFP's life, and because they are focused on keeping "centered", the ENFP is usually an intense individual, with highly evolved values. An ENFP needs to focus on following through with their projects. This can be a problem area for some of these individuals. Unlike other Extraverted types, ENFPs need time alone to center themselves, and make sure they are moving in a direction which is in sync with their values. ENFPs who remain centered will usually be quite successful at their endeavors. Others may fall into the habit of dropping a project when they become excited about a new possibility, and thus they never achieve the great accomplishments which they are capable of achieving. Most ENFPs have great people skills. They are genuinely warm and interested in people, and place great importance on their inter-personal relationships. ENFPs almost always have a strong need to be liked. Sometimes, especially at a younger age, an ENFP will tend to be "gushy" and insincere, and generally "overdo" in an effort to win acceptance. However, once an ENFP has learned to balance their need to be true to themselves with their need for acceptance, they excel at bringing out the best in others, and are typically well-liked. They have an exceptional ability to intuitively understand a person after a very short period of time, and use their intuition and flexibility to relate to others on their own level. Because ENFPs live in the world of exciting possibilities, the details of everyday life are seen as trivial drudgery. They place no importance on detailed, maintenance-type tasks, and will frequently remain oblivous to these types of concerns. When they do have to perform these tasks, they do not enjoy themselves. This is a challenging area of life for most ENFPs, and can be frustrating for ENFP's family members. An ENFP who has "gone wrong" may be quite manipulative - and very good it. The gift of gab which they are blessed with makes it naturally easy for them to get what they want. Most ENFPs will not abuse their abilities, because that would not jive with their value systems. ENFPs sometimes make serious errors in judgment. They have an amazing ability to intuitively perceive the truth about a person or situation, but when they apply judgment to their perception, they may jump to the wrong conclusions. ENFPs who have not learned to follow through may have a difficult time remaining happy in marital relationships. Always seeing the possibilities of what could be, they may become bored with what actually is. The strong sense of values will keep many ENFPs dedicated to their relationships. However, ENFPs like a little excitement in their lives, and are best matched with individuals who are comfortable with change and new experiences. Having an ENFP parent can be a fun-filled experience, but may be stressful at times for children with strong Sensing or Judging tendancies. Such children may see the ENFP parent as inconsistent and difficult to understand, as the children are pulled along in the whirlwind life of the ENFP. Sometimes the ENFP will want to be their child's best friend, and at other times they will play the parental authoritarian. But ENFPs are always consistent in their value systems, which they will impress on their children above all else, along with a basic joy of living. ENFPs are basically happy people. They may become unhappy when they are confined to strict schedules or mundane tasks. Consequently, ENFPs work best in situations where they have a lot of flexibility, and where they can work with people and ideas. Many go into business for themselves. They have the ability to be quite productive with little supervision, as long as they are excited about what they're doing. Because they are so alert and sensitive, constantly scanning their environments, ENFPs often suffer from muscle tension. They have a strong need to be independent, and resist being controlled or labelled. They need to maintain control over themselves, but they do not believe in controlling others. Their dislike of dependence and suppression extends to others as well as to themselves. ENFPs are charming, ingenuous, risk-taking, sensitive, people-oriented individuals with capabilities ranging across a broad spectrum. They have many gifts which they will use to fulfill themselves and those near them, if they are able to remain centered and master the ability of following through. Quote
