wez Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 You made no comments on the post because you were banned at the time, the post to vote you back or not was however visible to you...and therefore public. All members of the site were able to vote. I cleared it with you first before ever posting it...and you agreed. I did fecky.. I was just clarifying as eddo tried to use it as proof that I can't handle a public discussion.. nothing more. he told the truth.. Quote
timesjoke Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 TJ, I really think you are putting too much emphasis (and expectations) on IWS being a mod. I mean, yes, he is a mod, but he is a member first. I will be honest and say I may be expecting too much from IWS sometimes but all I can judge him on is by how I see other mods at other forums as well as my expectations for my own mods. I do not see it possible for a mod to be a member first. A Mod must set the example for the board in my opinion. It is like a cop who you see speeding down the road at shift change. If the rule makers and enforcers are running around breaking the rules, how can you respect them? We are all adults here, and frankly, IWS's mod duties (as well as Bender and Cloaked) shouldn't hardly ever need to be used- because we are adults. Well, what we "should" be and what we are is two different things. To be honest, I contributed to some of the bad behavoir, I admit that, but I believe the new attention given to childish actions will end my need to respond in kind. At least I hope so. You seem to want to elevate him to some level of holiness that is unfair and unneeded. You want him to see the error of his ways, and are, to quote wez, unwilling to look at your own. Nobody forced IWS to take the mod job, he had a choice. By accepting that job he must also take the added responsibility that goes with it. I run my own debate forum but I cannot get in the trenches and maintain my objectivity, so I have to scratch that debate itch on other forums. The only things I offered up to IWS for consideration was under the guise of his duties as a moderator, like chewing me for something I did not do. One of you, I forget who, posted the offending "ban" pm for us all to see, and from what I remember it was most definitely not a threat. But you took it as such, and thats your prerogative. IWS explained himself that it wasn't a threat, and from the way it looked to me- I agree with him. And then he apologized for it. Like I already said, there were other factors like a few comments leading up to the ban comment that was also a consideration for me at the time. I have seen more then my fair share of abusive staff and maybe I can be a tad over cautious in trusting them, but at any rate, even without the earlier issue of the ban comment, I would still have taken issue with getting chewed out for something I did not do. Now, I like you TJ- we agree on a lot of things, and you are better with your thoughts and ideas than I am- but this is getting old already. I really appreciate your attempts with wez, so how bout doing the same with IWS? I just did and it looks like IWS agreed to draw a line in the sand so this will be my last comment on the past stuff with him and me so hopefully we can all get along better. I like all of you guys for different reasons, I even like Wez sometimes. I believe we all have things to offer each other, that is why I come to places like this. I may never change my views on things, but even if I am secure that I am going down the right path on things, I always want to know why others choose other paths. Quote

wez Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 That's more like it.. we are all adults here... Now let's be children and actually enjoy some life.. Eenie meenie miney moe, catch a... ummm... errrr... ahhhh... Hell, forget it. Can't play that game anymore. Wonders how many people out there learned that "nursery ryme" when they were too young to know what the hell was going on.. Quote
wez Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 I like a good hug, especially the big bear higs, they have a nice side effect of poping my back too, lol. You got back problems TJ? I ruptured a L5 S1 disc when I was 23 and had severe sciatica for over a year.. wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.. Had a surgery, been great since. I golf all the time in the summer.. no problems at all for 16 years. They just removed the part of the disk that was occluding the sciatic nerve.. Funny thing was, never had back pain, it started in my right ass cheek and eventually traveled the whole leg through the foot. Thing would go numb 3 weeks at a time. Never went away. Ever. I'd wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweats. It's the kind of pain that makes you dizzy, light headed, and sick to your stomach. I shudder even thinking about it. The effect on the mind is the worst. Nightmares, depression.. chronic pain reeks.. hope to never experience that again. I knew the nerve pain was gone the second I woke from surgery even though I had a nice hole cut in my back that hurt.. It felt great. I found the best therapy for a sore back is to move it, every day, as soon as you can, even if it hurts.. Simple walk consistently is just what the doc ordered. By the way, would a liberal have gotten up at 4 am and done a paper route for 3 hours a day, 7 days a week through it all to pay his own way? I did... Pretty sure that's how it happened.. Not real sure. Was never interested in suing anyone, just feeling better.. I didn't wanna lose my route to the injury.. didn't have a choice. Worked perfect when I was in college the first time.. More than enough to pay my bills. Glad it happened.. I woulda been an EFNP lawyer.. scarey.. Quote
timesjoke Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 No, no back problems, but great big hug where you hear your back popping is something real. Something powerful. Most of the time when people do move to contact, it is a weak and pathetic hug, when I get a hug, I want it to mean something. Anyway, If I can't get the hug, I'll take a nice pat on the behind Quote

I think that Sean Penn had a paper route. <actually I just made that up. could be true, I don't know> I loved it, I lived in Duluth.. delivered in the city and like 2 residential neighborhoods.. Saw some big waves on lake Superior.. so beautiful up there. I miss it.. I use to go into the court house, state and federal building with a large stack of papers up on my shoulder.. Prolly not too hot on the back. Same side that was messed up too.. The weekend was good though.. no deliveries to them and all the other businesses for the most part. Cool city.. very laid back. Cept it was strange.. either really poor or really well off.. no inbetween hardly. Boom days of Iron ore were long gone.. Quote
