snafu Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Paparazzi hounding Spears arrested - CNN.com I think there should be stricter laws on these paparazzi frenzies. It's insane how they can hound celebrates relentlessly. I remember the one time when one wouldn't get out of the way of her car and they had to damn near mow him down. And he was gonna press charges? move the hell out of the way. And then you had Princes Diane. They need to leave these people alone. They should be restricted to certain locales where people come to them for photos and stuff. That would never work though.. but these crowds of photographers hounding people are out of hand.. Quote

By giving them jucy things to report, it is like moths to the fire. Guys like Wil Smith get lots of attention but because their not in rehab and stuff, it is kept to a low roar instead of the out of control mess with people like britney, lindsy, Paris....... I guess what I am trying to say is the paparazzi frenzies are in many cases feeding off the train wreck they are chasing. Britney and the rest want the attention, and do everything they can to get that attention. Quote

Sometimes they chase these people on motorcycles with someone on the back with a camera. They run into the street trying to get pictures. There needs to be restrictions as to how they gather their information. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" timesjoke Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 That shouldn’t matter. They're creating a safety hazard for the celebrity, bystanders and themselves. Sometimes they chase these people on motorcycles with someone on the back with a camera. They run into the street trying to get pictures. There needs to be restrictions as to how they gather their information. Maybe it shouldn't matter but we have to face reality. The actions of the reporters and stuff are driven by both ends and they are just in the middle. On one end you have celebrities who are selling themselves for the attention. It drives their worth with upward for things like their movies and such. Then on the other end, you have the stupid masses who want all the info on these celebrities, the more messed up the information, the more they want it. Case in point: LOS ANGELES — Britney Spears is proving yet again that she can't help but show off her private parts to the public. The songstress stepped out of her Cadillac Escalade en route to the B2V Borrelli-Vo Salon in West Hollywood on Tuesday evening, willfully displaying her uncovered crotch to the packs of paparazzi. "She didn't care at all," a pap on the scene told Pop Tarts. "People were warning her to pull her dress down, but she just ignored them and made her way inside the salon." FOXNews.com - Pop Tarts: Oops! Britney Hits Hollywood Without Her Underwear While Her Dogs Run Amok in Hotel - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment Consider this. Does the fanning of the flames with someone like Britney help her to make more money on things like her album sales? Sure it does, so the whole process is a self feeding fire, out of control. Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 If you can't take the heat, get your ass out of the kitchen. I have about an ounce of pity for these ing heels who are passed off as celebrities these days. They chose a career that put them in the limelight for all to see. At one time, these "celebrities" had a choice. Their stupid ing parents or agents shouldn't pump them up so much that they feel like they have some talent. I mean, where is Jessica and Ashley Simpson these days? Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.

And People should have to drive around these paparazzi?s standing in the middle of the streets. Britney certainly clambers for it and personally I think she that?s the only was she?s gonna get attention but its unsafe and its wrong. You?d be singing a different tune if it was you they were hounding. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" I have a saying that kinda goes to this comment: "The amount of crap a person can take in their job is directly comparable to the amount their getting paid." Sure there are negatives connected to being a celebrity, but their getting paid millions of dollars from the same public driving their fame and wanting the juicy details of their lives. There are exceptions to be sure, but most of the biggest problems of paparazzi crowds are caused directly by the celebrity acting poorly to invite this attention. Like Britney giving them bare crotch shots on purpose, they are directly fanning the flames of this problem. How do we blame the paparazzi when their simply stuck in the middle? Their stuck in the middle of making large amounts of money to get pictures. It is like a feeding frenzy to be sure but it is the companies paying incredible amounts of money for these pictures that is truly causing it. No money to be made, no paparazzi. If you want to stop all of this, simply make it illegal to sell an image of another person without their permission. Quote

wez Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Diana I felt sorry for, not Britney. True... but then again, how many of us know the life of having our asses licked by the world at such a young age.. I shutter to think how I would have acted if I was a beloved multimillionaire at 17 who always got his way.. Yikes. Prolly woulda been in a straight jacket too.. or dead. Quote

wez Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Watch me get in trouble for multiple posts.. even though I can't edit.. I feel sorry for Brittney that she never had anyone around her willing to tell her the truth.. Surrounded by vultures.. Kids aint equipped to deal with that. I really hope she comes out the other side okay.. People will always try to tear her down for the rest of her life. Yep, if i had millions before the age of 18 it probably would have done me more harm than good. Not only that, but everyone around you lying to you, stroking your ego.. recipe for disaster.. Quote

RoyalOrleans Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I have a saying that kinda goes to this comment: "The amount of crap a person can take in their job is directly comparable to the amount their getting paid." Great quote, Timey. I'll have to use that in future discussions on this topic, but I won't use it here. Rejoice. RO is going to plagiarize you. Sure there are negatives connected to being a celebrity, but their getting paid millions of dollars from the same public driving their fame and wanting the juicy details of their lives. Which is truly a sad state of affairs. Are these people's lives so hollow and barren that they have to live through others? Is it any of our business how others live? There are exceptions to be sure, but most of the biggest problems of paparazzi crowds are caused directly by the celebrity acting poorly to invite this attention. Like Britney giving them bare crotch shots on purpose, they are directly fanning the flames of this problem. Give them nothing and they'll take away nothing. If they were coal miners, I bet they'd do it with the same enthusiasm. Not siding with the suckers, because I believe to be of the same ilk as lampreys and leeches, however can't judge a man by how he puts food on the table. No money to be made, no paparazzi. I feel truly honored. Which is truly a sad state of affairs. Are these people's lives so hollow and barren that they have to live through others? Is it any of our business how others live? These people that fawn over the celebrities are a mess to be sure but the same public that made it possible for them to make millions to act or sing is the same public wanting all the jucy details fo their lives, one goes with the other. Give them nothing and they'll take away nothing. Exactly, the only reason these guys are chasing her around (in these numbers) is because she is giving them something to make money off of. If she cleaned up her act, 95% of them would dissapear. Britney should be institutionalized until she gets better. Preach to me brother, your dead on there. She is a danger to herself and society (drunk driving and such) she needs to be saved from herself. They are just doing their jobs. If they were coal miners, I bet they'd do it with the same enthusiasm. One good picture could be worth as much as an entire years income for a coal miner, is it any wonder they try so hard? I believe all of us would consider acting like a fool to make that kind of cash. Not siding with the suckers, because I believe to be of the same ilk as lampreys and leeches, however can't judge a man by how he puts food on the table. Well you can sometimes but in this case, we are not talking small amounts of money here, I cannot think of another line of (legal) work where you can make so much money by doing so little work. That would be just wrong. I don't know, why does someone own another person's likeness for the purpose of making money off of it? Actors and other famous people make money from their likeness and these guys are cashing in on another person's fame. If you made it illegal to use pictures of someone without their consent, all of this madness would end. Quote

The closest one I can think of is POLITICS. (although much of that isn't legal money) Quote
