Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Thanks old salt. How about this. its Oriental, dont bother overly with the visual image. Concentrate on the music. its beautiful: YouTube - icceness's Channel Quote
Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 And I love this, though I've heard better renditions before. It may mean little to folks over the pond, but there was hardly a family that did not loose menfolk at the Battle of Culloden, the last pitched battle on British soil. This is what the tune commemorates. It is a lament for the dead : [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhZ2IknXetg&feature=related]YouTube - The Flowers of the Forest[/ame] Quote
Old Salt Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I know there's a lot of good piping out there, but I just couldn't get into that one. Quote

Concentrate on the music. its beautiful: YouTube - icceness's ChannelIt was nice, uplifting but I don't know that I'd call it beautiful. I like a little bit of everything (even rap) but a lot of nothing. I was even into Gregorian Chant for a while. Quote

Yes I've heard better renditions, but there's nothing wrong with the tune. How about this one. Its a tune for depressives. I love it. I want something from you, please post. I want something from you, please post. Give me something that touched your soul. Something that made you want to write : I liked this shiek.. you should post the lyrics with it.. Good song. I liked the color in the guitars.. to me it means they find happiness in the music they make with them to break up the colorless life that is depression.. Cool vid. Kinda reminds me of the lone color in Shindlers list.. The little girl with the red coat, then the red coat on the wagon of corpses.. Powerful. I really found these two vids powerful, and really like both songs.. They touch my soul for sure, as do many others.. They're both on the lyrics post but I'll put them here for you.. What it's like Everlast [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z9f9Eybv4I]YouTube - EverLast[/ame] I assume these people in the vid he sings about committed suicide.. the scenes of drowning in the water.. Cept for Max, who pulled out his colt 45, talked some and wound up dead, but is "alive" at the end of the vid.. Cept for Max, who pulled out his colt 45, talked some and wound up dead, but is "alive" at the end of the vid.. In the Everlast song, nobody commits suicide. The first guy, if he dies, it's because he's poor and homeless. The second person doesn't die, the decision is about wether or not to murder her baby and have an abortion. The third person died cause he was trying to be a bad ass. Quote Intelligent people think... how ignorance must be bliss.... idiots have it so easy, it's not fair... to have to think... WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO BE AMONG THOSE FORTUNATE MASSES..... Hey, "Non-believers" I've just got one thing to say to ya... If you're right, then what difference does it make, it wont matter when we're dead anyway... But if I'm right... Well, hey... Ya better be right...

The girl is dead.. all the people at the end are dead.. looking at the guy who crossed their path at some point in their life.. You don't see him with the girl but when she gets bumped on the street.. guess who. She already had the abortion.. look at the lyrics.. How did she die? The old guy too.. that's who he asked to spare him change.. and was told.. "get a job you in' slob". The blonde guy with his family at the end.. Everyone standing there looking was dead. Quote
