The premium memberships for the most part, are to give us a reason to get off of other peoples backs. Other then that, the arguments are all we really do here. New memberships are not important. We advertise as a debate forum, but what we REALLY are is a community.. And here is where the problem is... Letting people slide so as not to impose on their freedom of speech, yet hassle them into giving a better thought out comment. Mr. Nice Guy does not work on this site. Not when you are dealing with the same group of people on a daily basis.. I openly admit GF is a clique of people. And there is no way in hell any given new member will get accepted here unless we humble them down a notch or 2. You need to look at the bigger picture. If we let EVERYBODY slide and not flip them shit, what will happen is what we see now.. COMPLAINING. So WHY NOT create a hidden Premium forum ?? Why not give special treatment to those who are paying to...not debate.. but be a part of a community. I'm pretty sure we make this point clear in the subscriptions post HERE

 

Here is how it will be from my position from here on out. This will be MY personal policy. And other MODS have their own, so don't think for a minute my moderating technique will influence OTHER MODS to be the same. The other MODS were chosen for specific reasons and have all IMHO done their jobs exactly as they have been expected, regardless of what others believe their personal motivations might be..

 

I will not moderate a premium member, if a premium member is fucking with you, then I really don't care. I will IDIOT BOX any other type of member I see fit if said member is A: Being a hissy fit attention whore, or B: starting shit with a premium member. C: derailing topics into a meaningless sub category. D:Can't take a little insult and still stay focused on the topic, no room for whiny bitches on this site.

 

And I will then do a BAN if I see A,B, and C. together. Or if ANY member harasses another member via E-mail and it gets reported to us.

 

If a PREMIUM is derailing a topic, it is of no concern of mine, but it SHOULD be of concern to their fellow Premiums. That is why they have their own forums to sort that shit out amongst themselves.

I have been banned from other so called "debate" sites before, not for insults and name calling, but for being honest and straight forward. I used to frequent several sites at once, but after so many times of seeing my posts edited and words removed, I quit. This is the only site, THE ONLY ONE, that I have never experienced editing and banning due to my opinion.

 

I was debating the issue of gay marraige about a year ago on a site called IIDB, or Internet Infidels Debate Board, a gigantic secular site. A site that flies in the face of conservative government and contemporary values. Was my opinion accepted there? Hell no. Not that I require full acceptance of my ideals. I was warned twice in the 'gay marraige' thread to stop flaming other members. Not because I insulted them personaly. Because I insulted their beliefs. Because I spoke truthfully about what I believe is right and wrong.

 

In the 13 or so months I have been a member of GF, I have only spent about 7 months activly posting here (my PC died from dust death or I would never have left), and have engaged in many many lenghtly and intelligent debates. WE need the "crybaby whiners" to make the rest of us seem more intelligent.

We evaluate this information and decide if it impacts our lives personally, and then decide if spreading newly found info would help or hurt our own position..

 

After evaluating almost every topic on GF, I would think it would be safe to say we have covered what was in our thoughts at the time, and nothing more...

 

2 points to be made here..

 

1. I could probably easily call up 50 or more archived posts on racism, 100 or more on Islam. What triggers these posts are 2 things...

 

Something that has happened in THAT persons life, or something that they had heard or read in the news or other media outlet..

 

2. When the world is not making an impact on your life personally, you'd rather not discuss something you have already heard..

 

What I find most interesting, is none of the other Premium members who support the site seem to be complaining. Only the peon regular members.
