phreakwars Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 The following damage was done by a former employee. A problem employee for many months, she was always good about having her mommy come down and threaten to sue us if we fired her. Everybody picked on her and she did no wrong. I of course, was the mean boss. I'd come down on her for things like, coming in late, stealing food, disrupting employees, etc..etc...etc.. What gets me, is I'm actually a pretty nice guy to get along with IRL if I do say so myself. I hire many teens and for the most part, I'm cool with all of them, and they all do an outstanding job for me.. But then we have miss thang.. She does no wrong, and if you come down on her like you would anybody else, she is of course a victim and is being picked on, gets her mommy, and threatens to sue. This last weekend, I had troubles with her calling work looking for her friend. I answer the phone and she doesn't respond, she did this repeatedly, and after doing a 69 and her number coming up, I call the store owner about her behavior... she of course, denys everything. Today I confronted her about her calling the store then hanging up, to which she of course denies and starts going off on a little tirade. I simply ignore her but she persists... to which I make another statement to her.. "Is it any wonder I don't like you?". She then, threw a glass of soda and ice at me, and was thus terminated on the spot by the owner as he had witnessed her doing it. So afterwards, she goes outside to wait for her mommy to pick her up, and the owner goes out to speak with her... she of course, is having her hissy fit, gets out of her moms car, picks up a thick glass punch bowl that was in the vehicle, and throws it at my window doing the damage which is pictured above. . . ImWithStupid Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Just another example of the, "parent enabling, lack of personal responsibility, spoiled brat society" that is much too common today. I have seen this over and over in my line of work, "Not my kid" is almost a mantra in todays society, even when presented with the facts. I hope you reported it so her parents can not only pay (because God forbid they make their precious little girl, pay for the damge) through restitution, but she gets a trip through the court system also. phreakwars Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Oh yeah, I reported it. I also plan on printing out a couple of nice banners and placing them on the side of my car that say "THIS WINDOW WAS BUSTED OUT BY CAITLYN SHELSTA" . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
ImWithStupid Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I just looked up her picture, and she definitely looks like a spoiled brat. I looked at her mother's pic and she looks like an uppity bitch, and when I saw their address, it all clicked together. Make sure you push for restitution for your loss. I'm sure the parents can afford it. Quote
ImWithStupid Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I wish I could post the pics, but it would be illegal. Quote
phreakwars Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Hell, her mom wanted to cut me a check right then and there. I told her to put away the check book, and that I would be seeing her in court. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
ImWithStupid Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 I feel this all goes back to the, "so called roll models" like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Brittany Spears, that shows that you can do bad things, if they are on video, you may get in trouble but the fame overcomes the cost of the legal consequences. 8 arrested in beating of 16-year-old Lakeland cheerleader The Associated Press 11:19 AM EDT, April 6, 2008 LAKELAND - Eight teenagers have been arrested after filming the beating of another teen and threatening to post the video on the Internet, sheriff's officials said. Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend's home, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said. Two girls confronted Lindsay when she walked in, yelling and threatening her, an arrest report showed. Another girl struck her in the head several times and then slammed her head into the bedroom wall, knocking her unconscious. When she woke up, she was on the couch in the living room surrounded by the six girls. The teens blocked the door, held Lindsay down and began beating her, the report said. Two teenage boys waited outside the home as lookouts. All eight were charged last week with battery and false imprisonment, which are third-degree felonies, the report said. Lindsay was taken to the hospital by ambulance and treated for a concussion, damage to her left eye and left ear, and numerous bruises, the report said. Lindsay's father said the teens' motivation for the attack was to produce a video that would become popular on YouTube, a video-sharing Web site. But the mother of one of the girls said that Lindsay had provoked the other teens by threatening and insulting them on MySpace, a social networking Web site. A line needs to be drawn in the sand on this one. These girls need to be made an example of. Quote

I'm not sure about the laws in your area, only New England, but in NE you only need 3 traced calls within a 90 day period and a certain time frame of the day to prosecute. Call trace can be done right from your phone. Quote Do the right thing!
wez Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Hope she's gotta pay.. A buddy of mine busted a window at a mall just being stupid when we were young.. $400.. A tidy sum for a high school kid in 1985. Good of you to deny the mom to just bail her out.. community service would serve her well.. You did her a huge favor.. More than I can say for "mom" Quote
Old Salt Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 It sounds like the young "lady" needs to attend anger management classes, as well. Quote

Did you see her doing this ? Are there other witnesses ? I hope so, she really does need to pay for the damage in court Quote
emkay64 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Hey Bender, Why didn't you let her pay for it? Court is stupid and a waste of money for both of you. Should have let her pay and just be done with it...now...you get to dick around with court bull . Just seems silly to me. Quote
emkay64 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Clearly I don't have any faith in the judicial system. I bet she just gets ordered to pay for the window, and her Mom will end up doing it anyways. Quote
Old Salt Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 My guess is that she'll be convicted of vandalism, even if she's only ordered to pay for the window. This will leave a permanent mark on her record. Depending on what she wants to do with her life, that could be a hindrance to get that primo job. Quote

Quite simply, because she won't be the one paying for it, mommy and daddy will. Mom and dad are wealthy and have a very bad habit of buying her way out of things. This girl NEEDS to be processed through the court system for her own good. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars

Like I said, you did her and mommy a favor.. Plus, chances are some community service will be handed down even if the folks pay the bill. Quote
Old Salt Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I said it before and I'll say it again.... The girl needs anger management classes. By the way, why doesn't she drive to and from work? Quote
Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I dont have any faith in our judiciary at all. In my town a kid has been caught in a pub/bar. He had in his possesion a set of knuckledusters, a knife and a bag of amphetamine. Result: No fine, no jail time, he's under a 3 month curfew with a tell tale ankle device. Millions of people stay at home every evening anyway, how is this a deterent/punishment? Elsewhere in the UK, another kid runs down and kills a two year old. Result: No jailtime, and no fine, just a few hours community service. But hey, dont do anything serious like watch the TV without a licence. Thats a ?1000 fine. I'd like to rid the nation of these idiots who make these dumb decisions. Quote
Feckless Wench Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 What a brat....created no doubt by her 'wonderful' parents. Quote Dementia is just a state of mind.
Guest schoolmom Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I agree that it is best to report the situation and have her go to court. If mom and dad always bail her out, and people allow it, she will never feel she has to be accountable for her actions. Even if all she has to do is pay for the window, and her parents pay for it, at least it could be the beginning of a court record and paper trail for future crimes. The more crimes on her rap sheet, the higher the consequence the next time. (I also can't imagine that she would get out of it without probation and community service. I don't know about elsewhere, but here that seems to be the norm for most crimes). Quote
phreakwars Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 From what I understand she will be pleading guilty to whatever it was she was charged with. And will be ordered to pay me (rather her parents will pay me ) restitution. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
Old Salt Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Good on ya. She was probably charged with criminal mischief, based on the dollar loss. Quote
