ImWithStupid Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 It's amazing that when the predominately productive, Republican, conservative people of Iowa are flooded out, they aren't looting, they aren't looking for the handouts that they are used to by liberals, they aren't killing each other, they aren't standing on roofs waiting to be saved. These people are helping each other, they were prepared when they were told what was to come, they protect each other's property, and they keep trying to come into the flooded areas to help out and not demand that someone help them. It's amazing the difference between how a population, like that of New Orleans, that is dependant on the government's social organizations respond to crisis and how a population that is expected to depend on itself as the conservative Iowa people are, who step up to help, not only themselves, but other people. Classice liberal/socialist/democarat vs. conservative/capitalist/republican mentality. Quote
Old Salt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Half the people in NOLA were living on welfare anyway. They had forgotten how to do anything except put their hands out. And if they don't get help as quickly as they think they should, they just up and go someplace else. How many have returned to NOLA? At least the cost of welfare payments will be reduced. Quote
ImWithStupid Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Exactly my point on the difference between the middle american and the socialist american. The middle american knows they need to help themselves, the socialist american waits for help from the government. That is why New Orleans voted back in the same corrupt government that took the money that was supposed to go toward the leves and emergenc management for NO and pocketed it. They now had the Federal Government to blame for the local governments corruption. The same thing happened a year ago with the blizzards in Colorado and western Nebraska. Local government had taken the money given to them by the fed and prepared, not like the Dem/Libs in NO who took the money and crapped it away. Quote
snafu Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 And it's not being racist thinking that way. Where the hell is hugo? He would say something like it is the liberal socialists that are to blame except he'd say it much, much better. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. RoyalOrleans Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 It is not a race thing. It is a culture thing, ya'll. And I completely understand. The dominant culture of the people of New Orleans are bottom-feeding people who are entirely dependent on the government. They contribute nothing to society and are little more than leeches living amongst the filthification of New Orleans. The dominat culture of the people of Iowa, as a whole, are self-sufficient. Hell... some of them old boys can trace their lineage back to pioneers and gunfighters. It might be dormant, but I bet, living off the land and survival in harsh times is a trait imbedded in their genetic code. I hope nobody thinks I was making this out to be a race issue. I was making it an issue of what happens when people become too dependant on government to solve all their problems coming from an ever increasing nanny state. Quote

That was the furthest thing from my mind. I felt the need to elaborate a bit or give it an RO brand of painful truth. That was for the narrow-minded leeching majority out there that would misconstrue what you posted.
