timesjoke Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I didn't even know who he was, just googled him and they say he overdosed with his mom home, the little I read seemd like another child star who could not handle it. Sad really, but all too often a reality of recreational drug use, people 'think' they can handle drugs and find out the hard way that most humans just can't. I hope what family he has can get past this okay, it is never easy to lose a loved one and even harder when it is the young who die from selfdestructive behaviors. Quote
wez Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Is that his hair and tooth?.... Indeed they are.. I think he inspired EBAY to draft policies after that regarding the sale of body parts and had to take them down.. pretty sad. Quote

Regularly I would feel the same as you, but I have a soft side for this crack head. He is my 80's heartthrob. Plus I never heard that he stole, committed any crimes or intentionally hurt anyone because of his addictions besides himself, like a lot of addicts usually do. He never even got married or had kids. Maybe because he didn't want to involve or hurt anyone else because of his situation. I believe he really tried to kick his habit, really make a comeback and make amends. Quote
emkay64 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ya know..I know I should feel bad. So he was a child star..made a load of cash, no longer a celebrity so take your cash and do something else. All I can think about is the people left behind to scrape up all their guilt. He got off easy. Addicts, alcoholics etc...I just can't get to where I feel for THEM anymore. They don't care about what they do to anyone else. Quote

timesjoke Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I don't feel bad for him because he made his choices, he was not involved in all the other criminal stuff because he already had access to enough money to get his drugs, most addicts don't so that is why you hear all that other stuff. For an addict, all that matters is their drug, getting the drug is all that matters and if they need to break a few laws then no biggie, but the drug comes first. All things being considered, the person you knew before they got addicted is dead, this new person who looks like that old person is completely different and is trying to be the old person sometimes, and they even succeed at being the old person some of the time, but the new person is always there, always waiting to set the old person aside and act completely different, do any act necessary, to feed the addiction. Most people never find a way to kill off the new person, at best they have a tug-of-war existence where each takes turns using the body of the person you knew. Quote

Come on, how long can money last for a drug addict? Especially at the rate and amount he was doing it. And in his condition it hurt his chances for work and decent parts. Someone with so much disposable cash wouldn't be selling their freakin teeth and hair on eBay... Quote
timesjoke Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Come on, how long can money last for a drug addict? Especially at the rate and amount he was doing it. And in his condition it hurt his chances for work and decent parts. Someone with so much disposable cash wouldn't be selling their freakin teeth and hair on eBay... Well then someone else was propping him up, or maybe he stole the money from people who never reported it, but the point is most of the bad behaviors people hear about from the average addicts are because they are busted trying to support their habit. This guy was getting his drugs, so they came from somewhere, he obviously did not have to resort to hooking on the corner or home invasions. Hey, maybe he sold drugs to the inner circle of actors to pay for his own addictions and that would explain a lot. Quote
