Oh that . If it don't got an engine I ain't trying it. I have a real fear of heights but for some reason I would love to try and ultralight. I hear even if the engine dies you can safely land. And also from what I hear it's preferred to cut the engine before you land so that if you nose dive it won't toss you around from hitting the propeller.

I read somewhere that you can safely land a helicopter if the engine fails. Not sure if its true.

It's called autorotation. If the engine fails they disengage the rotor and it will spin from the air moving up as the helicopter decends.

I used to play a video game of an apache helicoper when I was a kid on my old Comodore 64 that you could do this maneuver if your engine is knocked out by enemy fire.
