ImWithStupid Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Someone may have F'd up here. Four things you don't do if you are a Muslim Extremist. You don't attack the US, Israel, Egypt, and Turkey. The main reason not to attack the US or the others listed is because the other three will retalliate without mercy. Quote

BUT, in their efforts to get into the European Union they've cleaned up their act A BIT. They've tabled the death penalty and are reforming their prisons. Those bombs went off a few blocks from where I used to hang out when I went to Istanbul. I've got no doubt that there will be people in jail within a week or so. Quote

wez Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Why the hell are freedom haters bombing Turkey anyways? And if they hate freedom, why are they freely roaming the world blowing up and not in chains somewhere? Quote

Turkey is an ally of the United States and this will be the last you hear of a terrorist act on Turk soil. Those motherscratchers will be hung, drawn and quartered, burned, shot, and finally raped. They drink alcohol, they dance, they wear clothes they like. They do stuff islamofascists disapprove of. In short it's an in between place. A little western, a little Muslim but all Turkish. Islamofascists are trying to kill the opposition as they see it. eg those who approve of a secular state. hose who approve of strengthening ties with Europe. Those who oppose extreme Islam. That's how it seems to me. Old Salt will know better. He lives there, and is closer to it. Quote

In fact, the governing political party is (or at least was when I left Turkey) in court in danger of being outlawed for being too religious. The claim is that they're trying to undermine the secular state. Military coups have happened in Turkey over less. Quote
