ImWithStupid Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Well, that eliminates Barack's first choice for VP. Don't worry, maybe Nancy Pelosi can recomend Mumia Abu-Jamal to be his running mate. They seem to love the guy enough. All he did was murder a police officer, why should he get the death penalty? Might as well make him VP. Quote
Anna Perenna Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Gray had had been convicted in connection with a spree of four murders and eight rapes in the Fayetteville, N.C., area over eight months in the late 1980s while stationed at Fort Bragg Private Gray was convicted of committing brutal crimes, including two murders, an attempted murder and three rapes. The victims included a civilian and two members of the Army. ... The president's thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these heinous crimes and their families and all others affected. "While approving a sentence of death for a member of our armed services is a serious and difficult decision for a commander in chief, the president believes the facts of this case leave no doubt that the sentence is just and warranted," White House press secretary Dana Perino said. But I suppose it's more heinous for military personnel to commit these crimes, because they are trained to protect and defend people ........ and uh, kill ... and this brews up a whole new kettle of , doesn't it? Does he deserve a harsher punishment because he belongs to a 'harsh' military world? Or are his actions somewhat defensible because he has been trained to hurt people - and generally desensitized? 1 Quote _______________________________________________________ I don't know how to put this, but ... Does joining the military mean you aren't privy to the same rights as someone who doesn't? I think the Supereme Court and the Congress have a conundrum to clean up on this ruling. Quote

I decided it's best for me to not give rep myself, as to not give the impression of preference of one member in exclusion to others, since I'm a mod. I don't expect to get any, but I'm fine with that. Quote
phreakwars Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 The only objection I have to this, is they should have executed him years ago, not hold off a few years. So like, what exactly is the military's method of execution anyway? Firing squad would rule !! . . 1 Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars

This piece of lost soldier status in committing the crimes he committed. He should be hung like a common criminal. Oh happy birthday Phender !! Quote

eddo Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 My only question with this is why is this man still a member of the US military? Quote I'm trusted by more women.
ImWithStupid Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 My only question with this is why is this man still a member of the US military? Probably because if he was discharged the court of military law would lose jurisdiction and he would have to be prosecuted in a civil court where some dumb ass jury might aquit him, ala O.J. Simpson. Just a guess. Quote
