I told you so...

In contrast, what most don't see is that Russia is making a strategic and economic play on us. They not only have their own vast reserves (about the same as us), but have planted a flag in the arctic to claim much of what's there, and sured up deals for supplies from Iran and other countries that are US unfriendly like Libya.

It's only time before they make a move on supplies from Venezuala, Nigeria, Angola and Iraq, once we leave.

I hope I'm wrong but I think there are plans by Russia to bring us to our knees, like we did to them. Their country is vastly controlled by people from the former KGB who, I doubt have forgotten losing the cold war. The problem is that the federal government keeps playing into this scenerio, with no sign of realizing what's going on.

Russia has had Europe under their thumb since the 80's when Reagan tried to convince Europe not to buy into the oil pipeline that Russia was building for it's oil supply.

Russia is making a play now for the only oil pipeline that they don't control, that goes through Georgia.

Without the backing of the European nations, the US has limited or no leverage over Russia. The European countries such as France, Italy, or Germany will bow to Russia and the rest don't have enough clout to make a difference.

With three decades of poor economic and energy policies in the US, we are either all alone as far as western nations apply or have limited allies in Turkey, Poland, or other former Soviet nations as allies against the Russias.

Like I said weeks ago, Russia is ruled by ex/current-KGB people, and they want the US to go down. Too bad Washington is doing everything it can to help them.

Has the man in the blue turban showed up? (Nostradamus reference)

I tell you what, with this try at WWIII, the problem with the economy, energy, immigration, etc..., if we don't get some good ol' conservative, get government out of the way, we're gonna fall like Rome of old, in the next few decades.

Here's what I'm saying. I don't care who the President is. I just know that we need to start to get our own energy now. We can either start drilling everywhere now, or pray that we can hold out for three to five decades until the next technology is available to help us.

I just believe that by three decades from now, we'll be controllled by Russia or China if we aren't getting our own carbon/fossil energy.

We need legislators who will do what is right for the country, not their special interest groups - whichever. Intelligent ecology laws, laws that don't put some sand flea somewhere first over national security. I hate to say it, but we need government investment in developing alternate energy sources - as someone said, an energy Manhattan Project.

This isn't about the price of gas at the pump, people will adapt. It's about being able to continue to heat homes, power hospitals and emergency services.

You're somewhat right. We need "leaders", something we haven't had in a long, long time, that will work out an energy plan, and economic plan, a foreighn relations plan, that goes beyond their current election cycle.

I have yet to support any candidate for president yet but, I have to say, John McCain was not only in relations with Georgia months ahead of this crisis in Georgia, but when it erupted, he immediatelly spoke out against it. Where as Obama who, granted was on vacation, only made a small blurb on Friday, when the incident happend, and didn't comment again about the incident until, President Sarkozy from France had negociated a truce, several days later, did Obama make another statement that happened to mimmic what McCain had already said, days before.

I truly think that Russia is trying to send a message to the US, NATO, and the western supported former BLOC nations that they are ready to establish their former influence, and they are trying to say that the western European nations aren't ready to stop them.

I happen to believe that they are right. When Europe let themselves become dependant on the Russian oil pipeline, they dropped the ball.

Russia controls Europe so we can't count on their support against Russia.

Against what the Leftist want, we now need, more than ever, and emergency order for hands off oil production on US soil.

It is now, as many conservatives tried to warn about, a serious national security event.

I tried to rep you, but I'll get you back asap.
