wez Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I never said anything of the sort about you. If what I said offended you, you should ask yourself why.. I suppose a person who thinks someone telling the truth about their country hates it if they believe everything lying, war criminals tell them. I tell the truth because I love my country, not because I hate it. Seems to me anyone not willing to face the truth, or that tries to stop others from telling the truth are the ones that hate their country. Quote
ImWithStupid Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I was mostly referring to these posts... I think you are right Wez, lots of people are brainwashed. I used to think it was only Nazi's, Stalinists and Fanatical muslims. I've come to se that we are all vulnerable to this . It starts with the perpetual one sidedness of a story in the media. If you dont appraise the story critically, and strip away all the spin, you're done for. I've learned to see which side the presenter is on, and what it is s/he wants me to believe. Its like a discrete soft-war that is constantly being fought for the minds of lazy people. http://Off Topic Forum.com/on-topic-bs/24073-georgians-hate-fox-news-too-7.html#post64821 and this agreement to said remark... Very well said, sheik.. and unfortunately true. Insidious.. and ingenius. http://Off Topic Forum.com/on-topic-bs/24073-georgians-hate-fox-news-too-7.html#post64835 but honestly, I was just messing around and made a sardonic post based on recent events in regards to past conversation. wez Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 What sheik said was true.. and applies to everyone under the sun.. except for the spin doctors. Matter of fact, I said myself that I was brainwashed with lies from birth.. Doesn't mean I need to continue to be. Quote
Guest sheik-yerbouti Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 but honestly, I was just messing around and made a sardonic post based on recent events in regards to past conversation. Thats OK IWS. I was not getting at you personally. I'm tired of the media mutts, spinning every story any which way depending on what they would like us to believe. I dont like being patronised by those clowns. I believe that so far in this little war Russia has behaved honourably in the most part. They have halted a Georgian Invasion of SO. And, if SO genuinely wishes to become part of the new Russia, that's fine too. Should they wish to join Georgia, thats also fine by me. But a Russian involuntary take over of SO, like Checkoslovakia, West Germany, Poland etc I could not condone or support. I'll be Ruskie bashing soon enough if they start that all up again. Quote
ImWithStupid Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Bringing up some old topics, like where I suggested that Russia was going to try to gain back their buffer nations, and such... Russia moves troops closer to Georgia's capital By LYNN BERRY, Associated Press Writer Lynn Berry, Associated Press Writer ? Tue Apr 21, 4:31 pm ET AKHMAJI, Georgia ? At a military checkpoint between Georgia and its breakaway region of South Ossetia, the word "Russia" is hand-painted in pink on a concrete security barrier. "It will be Russia," said a Russian army lieutenant as the Ossetian soldiers under his command nodded. "And Georgia used to be Russian, too," said the young freckle-faced lieutenant, who would give only his first name, Sergei. Three armored personnel carriers and a tank were dug in around the checkpoint. Russia has troops just 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the Georgian capital, in violation of the European Union-brokered cease-fire that ended last year's brief war. And in recent weeks, it has put even more soldiers and armored vehicles within striking distance of the city ahead of street protests against Georgia's president.Russia moves troops closer to Georgia's capital I'll be breathless waiting for a response, since he never really gave one last summer when Russia invaded a sovereign allied nation. The Russians backed off under President Bush. It appears that the world wide apology and appeasment tour that President Obama is running may not be paying off. I'm willing to bet that within the next several years the Obama Administration will sell out part if not all of Georgia back to the Russians and part if not all of Eastern Europe to the Russians also. I think they will possibly, not as sure, but possibly sell out Taiwan to the Chinese, and maybe even sell out Israel to the Muslim nations. Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Obama drew comparisons, in this ARTICLE, between the Russian invasion of Georgia to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Does anyone remember Georgia being a threat to Russia? Did Georgia have a weapons program? Was Georgia in violation of multiple UN Resolutions ... violations that authorized any UN member to go in and remove their leader? I'm just curious if I'll have to break out my science.
