ImWithStupid Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 No, I don't read the Internet, I had no idea.. Sounds ethical. Quote
snafu Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 It's all bull . Both parties agree on major issues. Both parties will hide the fact to their voters that the goverment will conduct business as usual. In this election both parties are declaring change. how or who they will throw out to change the goverment is yet another fabrication on both parties. So to pander to the on the fence voters, they will both try slander. This dose work for that minority of ignorant people. But I have faith in America that they will see past the bull . Although the Internet and media has changed the way we think, I think we can see what's scripted or photoshoped. We have a wealth of information at our finger tips and we have also shrunk our society to converse with these issues. Let us all see it for what it is. phreakwars Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Yes, tell me all about the GOP ethics? I'd claim a hypocrisy here, but I think what is needed more is a trip to reality. Tell me you don't agree, and I believe you even said it yourself, that GOP is trying to pick up votes from it's "IDIOT" base who believe all the lies the Internet tells them. Hey, it works both ways. I say bring out the smears this next 2 months, Obama's been playing nice for too long with someone who won't "MAN UP" to America and give a "STRAIGHT TALK" speech about his specific plans for our country. Until then, all supporters of McCain, are the idiot base... following around the "MESSIAH" of the POW hero without a plan, just a brand name. "REPUBLICAN" to sqeak him by to his followers... Although the Internet and media has changed the way we think, I think we can see what's scripted or photoshoped. We have a wealth of information at our finger tips and we have also shrunk our society to converse with these issues. Let us all see it for what it is. Again many people don't read past headlines. Headlines are misleading, the media in America has gone from reporting the news to trying to create the news. Both sides use this and it's crap. Both parties promise one thing and deliver another. The only reason that I lean toward McCain, don't really endorse him, but with a Dem controlled Congress, with two far left libs controlling both houses and possibly without chance of philibuster, and the most far left liberal/socialist leaning candidate for President, and third most far left VP candidate on the ticket, I feel the balance of power and checks and balances are in jeopardy. I truely believe that if Bill Richardson was the Dem candidate, I'd vote for him, but I still can't say I'm ready to pull the lever on either McCain or Obama. I can say I'd be more likely to vote Obama if he switches to Hillary as a running mate. I think she has enough power to rain in Obama's radical side. I believe that the idiots listen to the talking points and "supposed scandal" outnumbers those of the voting population who actually is informed and educated on the candidates past and present "claims" of stances, and that scares the crap out of me. My own sister who usually is informed showed how this crap can get you when she told me that Palin said that "Iraq was God's plan" even though anyone who actually checked this claim knew it was completely false and she said to pray that there was a plan for Iraq and that plan was God's plan. Big difference. Just like I said about the whole "pig" thing. Obama wasn't calling Palin a pig anymore than he's a closet Muslim. Quote
snafu Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 The Republicans have the core beliefs I do. I am pro life, pro gun and pro god as Palin. I believe in our armed forces. I think in a pinch McCain is, in this day age, our Patton. I firmly believe our country is in jeopardy and we need a warrior at the helm. I would'a voted for McCain no matter what. The fundamental issues of the democratic party are different than mine. The foreign, energy and economic issues are the same for both sides. I hear his latest video was a shameless self promo for 9/11™ YouTube - Keith Olbermann slams McCain on exploiting 9/11 . . You use Olbermann as your argument. You do realize that even MSNBC has pulled him as an anchor because his Obama bias is so outrageous that Tom Brokaw reportedly pushed for him and Tim Matthews to be pulled because their shamefull "reporting" was leaving a bad stigma on NBC news also, right? And really you are going to put the "messiah" card on McCain? Obmana's been the Messiah to the media for 18 months, you can't question him, he sets the rules on what you can talk about, etc... Now Palin is taking his thunder and he is turned upside down, acting completely un-Presidential and almost like a child in response. I find it all funny. He's learning the lesson that the Clinton's learned, they were the media darlings for so long, they thought it was a given, the Obama came along, he move in place as the ratings maker, was hoisted up and offered as the second comming and the Clintons didn't know what to do but become bitter and cry foul and drag out the primary. Now, low and behold Palin comes along and Obama is getting a taste of what happened to Hillary and he's in a panic. Doesn't know what to do. He's hiding Biden from the media so he doesnt' say anything stupid while he decides if he's going to bite the bullet and replace him with Hillary. Quote

Playing nice, like telling lies that McCain wanted to stay in Iraq for 100 years? That was a complete distortion of something McCain mentioned as a comparison as to how we still have troops in Europe but under a completely different mission. The problem with Obama is he has no "straight talk" to offer. He wants to increase government spending by the largest amount in over 20 years and the tax increases for the rich will only cover 1/10th the cost so where do you think all that money will come from? Until then, all supporters of McCain, are the idiot base... following around the "MESSIAH" of the POW hero without a plan, just a brand name. "REPUBLICAN" to sqeak him by to his followers... I hear his latest video was a shameless self promo for 9/11? You have that backwards, Obama has no history of ever reforming anything. Obama has no history of successfully running anything. Obama has no executive experience. Obama has no economics experience. Obama has no world politics experience. Obama has nothing but a word, it is a pretty word to be sure, but the word "change" used without substance to back it up is a hollywood gimic. Just like Obama's halftime show acceptance speach, he is all glitter and glamor but just like most of the actors in Hollywood who also play a false role to fool the masses, they are a complete mess in real life. Obama set himself up as the 'MESSIAH', not McCain. In several recent polls, Obama and McCain were judged buy two standards, doers and talkers. Mccain was rated a doer, Obama was rated a talker. We don't need another talker. At the end of the day all the pretty words are forgotten and the 20 foot tall pillars are returned to the movie lot Obama does not have the credentials to run the largest economy/military in the world. We don't care what they are saying so long as it cannot be looped on AM talk radio for weeks on end... I think we should drop all this ... 100 years in Iraq, Lipstick on pigs, Biden asking the cripple to stand up, and the senseless comment about Palin not having an abortion... Let me offend everyone so the shock wears off before the next soundbyte hits up... Obama is Black and has large lips... Palin is a MILF McCain is older the Hydrogen Biden is a miserable Bush is stupid The right is crazy and the left are pussies at this point... the best thing about this election season is that the Free Credit Report . timesjoke Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Palion is most definitely a MILF. I will second that one. Not hard to see why she has so many kids I think that is the other reason Libs hate her, look at their selection of women in power, all frumpy at best, downright repulsive most of the time (Janet Reno). Tell the truth, Hillary did not seem like a sexual being. Fullauto, the PC bull was reached years ago, when you can't tell a joke in the workplace without being worried you will get sued, we have gone over the edge. These guys are just experiencing what most high level managers see in big business every day. Can you guess how many sexual harassment suits have been filed without merit in America? What I take notice of is the 'spirit' of the attacks. Attacking Palion saying stuff like her only qualification is she has not had an abortion or is a govenor like the guy who had Jesus killed is certainly a very evil 'spirit'. Saying she is a step backward for women? Saying she should not be VP because she is a mom? Saying she is a bad mother because her 17 year old had risky sex and did not abort the result? ETC................ This is all way over the top and there is not one example of anything anywhere close to this kind of personal attacks being done by high ranking Republicans against Obama. Quote

timesjoke Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 You're right... but I actually hold the republicans up to a slightly higher standard... I know I shouldn't... but I do... I hold higher standards of what I call conservatives but to our shame, Republicans lost sight of our once great possition of fiscal responsibility. GWB had to increase spending for the war, no arguement there, but things like earmarks got completely out od control under his watch and many, many bills got passed with huge amounts of wasted money. I so desperately want to be able to hold my Republicans to that higher standard again, maybe this combination of old guard and new rebel can breath some new life into the party, I am seriously considering leaving my party if things don't turn back to the conservative platform. I agree with you 100%... the spending was off the charts, but I must tell you, I'm really suprised it wasn't worse considering that GW wasn't given the Line-item veto and was not able to pass bills without accepting all of the pork that the democratically controlled congress had managed to slip into the resolutions before they hit his desk... With War funding that couldn't wait, could he really afford to veto the whole HR as a package and risk the media scandle that would ensue if he didn't fund the war that he supposedly started... I will not argue with you that the Republican party is completely off base from it's original Ideals, but untill I get my Reality Party up in the Caucasus and Primaries, we have little choice... Personally, I like Ron Paul and his ideas... VERY much a federalist/isolationist... We must put our house in order before we can deal with the world... But he is very weasly, and I fear how he would come across to foreign leaders in a global even... Just look at what is happening with N Korea... Kim J Ill had a stroke, and we are in talks with CHINA (Next Super Power), over what to when the inevitable instability breaks out! Don't know if I would want Ron Paul fighting that fight... We could lose Taiwan of this ... Quote
timesjoke Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 The thing about NK that bothers me is the pattern set, Bill Clinton tried pure diplomacy and failed, Bush forced the 6 party talks and it has had some success but there have been signs of it breaking down as well and if the stories of the stroke are true, who knows what will happen next. Ron Paul directly said he would never take military action outside of American soil, he would have been a disaster as President but he is a great addition as a part of the voices for our nation to play counterpoint to the radicals on the other side. In my opinion Obama is too weak to deal with these kinds of issues as well. Obama has never been a leader of any sort, how do you take a guy who has forever been a follower and ask him to lead a nation as Big as America? Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) Reaffirmed That Obama Was Not Ready To Be Commander In Chief. ABC's George Stephanopoulos: "You were asked is he ready. You said 'I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.'" Sen. Biden: "I think that I stand by the statement." (ABC's "This Week," 8/19/07) Sen. Biden: "Having talking points on foreign policy doesn't get you there."
