Anna Perenna Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I'd post an argument here except my mind has gone completely blank. Why, I just can't think of anything to say. Not anymore. Not now that my personal Jesus Barack Obama has won the election ...... Quote _______________________________________________________ I don't know how to put this, but ... I'm kind of a big deal. http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/da43a2f8a710897a421f74efa00eba9a.jpg I'm still here. I'm still a fool for the holy grail Not all gay men send me penis pictures. But no straight men do. And to date, no woman has sent me a picture of her vaginal canal.
Anna Perenna Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 p.s. In all seriousness, I'm not an obsessive fan of Obama. I actually thought his victory speech was kind of dour. Comparatively, McCain's concession speech was very gracious and inspiring. Quote _______________________________________________________ I don't know how to put this, but ... Guest eisanbt Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I can't say, though I am no supporter of republicans, that any, or rather either of these sketch bags being handed the throne inspires or comforts me in any way. There is no ruling party that represents me, supports me or my beliefs. Keeping the middle class ignorant, occupied and apathetic is what this democratic guise is all best at; totalitarianism need not be so overt as a rifle in the face to earn its namesake (Mark and 'X' once every 4 years? Wow I feel part of the democratic process). A wage doesn't mean you're not a slave. I could work my life away, without ever living a moment of it, and still be trapped by poverty, discrimination and constant police harassment. Its hard to believe you don't live in a police state when the pigs follow you everywhere, harass your friends, physically/ emotionally/ sexually and toss you in jail without just cause (don't matter if the charges don't hold up, there is no consequence for the thug arresting officer if they don't know the laws!). Does it not seem odd that you must be able to 'afford' to live? I'm locked into a job and a lease and a debt, even with all that gone I'm not allowed to live by self-determination. I'd get beaten and toss into a cell. People yell "Get a ing job you bum!" As if it were so easy, or that working 80hours a week just to make the bills was a respectable and satisfying way to live (I got one; thank you white male privilege! Many aren't 'gifted' this option). So should I try and take the fight to them? Wipe away the tossed in my face by the government, the ignorant, the ruling elite (excuse the silly anarcho-isms). Is it worth tossing our "peace" to the wind for a chance to take our lives in our own hands? I'm a wimpy privileged north American; the fact that I can eat out of a dumpster even is a luxury. But by remaining complacent and keeping the illusion of peace here (apperciate that its only peace for folks with those of us with swank computers and taxable incomes) we allow the violence to happen over-seas. With no immediate threat at home, state armies are free to take imperial action elsewhere. We've already been beaten; we're subdued and locked into the system. Just angry tonight, forgive the somewhat unorganized and scattered manner in which this was presented. Stay cool kids.
