Ahhlee Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Since no one has asked yet, I will... What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? Are you cooking or just eating? Are you getting together with friends and family or staying home to eat a Swanson's tv dinner and watch porn? Do you enjoy Thanksgiving Day or does it stress you out to no end? Quote
Ahhlee Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 I'm cooking the entire meal for 21 people this year and I'm doing almost everything from scratch. I must be insane. Quote
emkay64 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I dunno. Who's inviting me over? Thanksgiving is over already here. Quote

mercury Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I'm just dragging the kids over the brother-in-laws house for a couple hours. I don't have to take anything but us and a green bean casserole. It'll be a nice change of pace with no mother-in-law around. I'm sure she'll just sit around all day weeping her eyes out, like she does every time she calls. Lame. Quote
Ahhlee Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Awww Ali...I'll help....whatcha' making besides dead bird? I already made some desserts last week so they're in the freezer and ready to go. Today I'm brining the turkey, chopping vegetables and making cornbread. When I go to turn the turkey in the brine, I'm going to blanch the green beans. Tomorrow I'll put dry rub on the turkey, make the cornbread sausage stuffing, peel the potatoes and prep the greenbean casserole. Thanksgiving morning I'll be up at the buttcrack of dawn to get everything rolling. Hopefully nothing disasterous befalls me. Quote
emkay64 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 You got your work cut out for you chica! I'd help ya' if I could. Quote

Ahhlee Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 You got your work cut out for you chica! I'd help ya' if I could. Aww thanks. I wish you could come by to eat and enjoy yourself! My aunt is bringing homemade lefse which is always a treat for us Norskies. Quote
emkay64 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I personally like doing all the cooking. I hate directing people. I would just rather do it myself....plus...i get all the accolades I also commend you being a planner. I do most stuff early too...then I can drink more...instead of working...smashed by dinner...and therefore eat less...works out just fine:P Quote

phreakwars Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Just gonna be my wife and 2 kids this year. Usually we have my uncle and my friend Megan over, but this year it's just us. Gonna cook up a (brine)Turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, gravy, rolls, pie, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, watergate salad and I think that's about it. Don't really feel like cooking a 20 course meal this year. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars

Does it add a lot of flavor and keep it moist? Quote
