Just started reading "Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. His "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of my favorites.

Other recommendations "Cannery Row" and "Tortilla Flat" by Steinbeck, "The Last of the Just" by Andre Schwarz-Bart.

I am currently reading the Maginogion, a collection of prose stories from medieval Welsh manuscripts.

I printed them off of the Wikisource site.

I'm reading a book of slow-cooker recipes to get some ideas for a party this weekend. It's pretty deep and well thought out plot though I'm not sure if I'm completely sold on the views and actions of the protagonist..i.e. Swedish meatball casserole.

I know slow cookers are a great time saver...I just can`t love the look of the anemic meat that comes out of them. I have to brown everything afterwards in the oven. It is a delight for things like chili, and spaghetti sauce, or soup...or for melting candle wax (heehee)....but mostly I don`t like the mush they produce. I`d rather bake, roast or BBQ....

Oh I agree. Thinking everything can be done in the crock pot is like thinking you can cook an entire meal in a microwave...and we all know how that sh!t turns out. I always wind up cooking half on the stove top or oven and then wrapping it up in the crock pot.

I'm currently reading a thread on Off Topic Forum about books.

It's really quite interesting. I wonder if it's non fiction?

We'd have to bring TJ back to go over the top with the drama.

Nothing worse than being suffocated by a urine soaked blanket, but I digress, I did initiate a fukken exchange with wez.

If Off Topic Forum were a book, wez' contribution would consist of three pages of "yay me" and "I'm not you" c#nt-speak.

Now wez will reply to me in his little c#nt speak way and totally kill this thread.

For example,

RO's contribution would be SIX pages of "I demand your respect", "I played army in the desert", and "I kill because in God I trust".

There wez... I laid it out for you.

Oooo... got me there.

We're used to it. You're one of the few people I know that can and often do find a way to ruin or derail their own threads.
