snafu Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 If your gonna carry a gun shouldn't you know how to handle it first? What a moron. And this could be a felony for him too. Newsday reported that Burress has a concealed-weapon permit from the state of Florida that expired in May 2008. It is unclear if the permit was renewed; such a license can be renewed up to six months beyond the expiration date in accordance with section 790.06(11)(a) of Florida Statutes. However, the states of New York and New Jersey do not recognize permits from Florida, so Burress could be charged in the incident FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Giants' Burress accidentally shoots self in leg Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. wez Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I don't see what makes him any different than any other moron carrying a gun.. More people shoot themselves or friends/family/innocent strangers and children than ever play Batman and save the day in a mall or thwart off a perp coming to steal their silverware.. That being said... Plaxico is a dumbass Quote

No, I'm saying people who carry guns are morons. But you're right, there are more intentional shootings than accidental ones such as suicides, murders, "emotionally distressed"ex husbands killing their ex wives and children, women shooting their abusive husbands/boyfriends, mailmen opening fire on their managers, other disgruntled employees shooting their co workers, school kids shooting up their schools.. Small kids getting a hold of it and shooting a playmate ..etc.. More of those intentional shootings than anyone ever using a gun to play Clint Eastwood and save the day by gunning down a gunman opening fire in public place or having to thwart off a perp to save their or their families life.. wouldn't you agree? Combine those with the accidents and the conclusion is.. People who carry guns are dumbasses. Quote

My next door neighbor and my sons best friend (13 years old) was accosted by gun point just the other day and just down the street. They put a gun to his cheek and then stuck it in his ribs for a few bucks and his cell phone. Yes if I was out walking and saw this I would've shot the son of a bitch! snafu Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 You might be able to stand there and watch a family member or a friend being tormented, robbed or killed but I can't. So there ya are.. if the guy had a gun and tried to play Conan to protect a cell phone and a few bucks him or his son would most likely be dead right now.. Quote

No the asshole would be dead. If someone would put a gun to someones head they would have the mentality to use it. You can let people on you. It's your choice. I chose to protect myself. I wouldn't try to play Charles Bronson.. better to all walk away a bit poorer. I wouldn't stand there if it was happening to anyone, but I sure as hell wouldn't pull out a gun and start shooting.. cept with my mouth, you know me. Quote

I can't stop anyone from putting a gun to my head and if I had one under my jacket and thought I was Steven Segal I'd be in more danger.. Quote

Chickensh ts.. They aint gonna wanna turn a mugging into a muder unless you pull out a weapon thinking you're John Wayne and make em panic.. Prolly better off showing no fear, saying you aint getting sh t from me, and daring the f cker to shoot me instead.. "Come on f ckhead.. do me a favor.. shoot me, I dare ya".. hahahahaha They depend on fear, take that away.. they got sh t.. Work better than playing hero I bet.. If'n you're really attached to a few bucks.. Quote
Ahhlee Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Way to perpetuate a stereotype no? Agreed. Wasn't he supposed to be on the mend? Since when does rehabilitation for a sports injury involve heading out to the clubs with a concealed weapon? Dumbass. Quote
hugo Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Way to perpetuate a stereotype no? Yep, why do even rich black people go to clubs where they feel they have to be armed? ImWithStupid Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Same reason Hero Joe thinks he needs to be armed? Someone might steal his neighbors lawn ornaments.. Brilliant analogy. Worryinig about someone stealing his lawn ornaments made Burress go to a night club in a dangerous part of town. Quote

Smarter than some white dipsh t who needs one to go to a mall in the suburbs.. hahaha I was addressing that you completely missed Hugo's point. Why do multi-millonaires keep going to dangerous places like, and put themselves in situations for things like this to happen when it isn't necessary Ja-Rule, Snoop Dogg, Adam Jones, Ray Lewis etc... . You're analogy, like the one about the mall wasn't even relevant to the question. The question wasn't about why they had a gun, it was why go to a dangerous place where you think you might need one, if it isn't necessary. Quote

I wasn't in the mood for thinking.. prolly cause their friends hang out there.. And they don't feel comfortable rubbing elbows at the 4 Seasons.. and studio 54 closed 25 - 30 years ago. Quote
