Of course my original argument was public employees have 1st amendment protections that private employees do not have. This case has nothing to do with discrimination, it has to do with the 1st amendment.

 

Folks, what this comes down to is rights of association which are derived from the 1st Amendment. Most of the relevent, for this case, rights of association USSC rulings were made in favor of civil rights organizations, such as the NAACP, that were being harrassed by state and local governments in the '50's. Somewhat ironically, these decisions also protect members of the Klan. People exercise their free speech through organizations.

For the same reason that all family business' have family working for them at their respective business'. How many blacks and Yugoslavians would you expect to be employed there? The fact is if you could prove that they would not hire you 'because your not Chinese' then you fall under the protection of the federal anti-discrimination act. Actually the two Chinese all-you-can-eat buffets here in Indy that I frequent, have about a 50% Mexican staff. I would love to know why they should be allowed to fire a woman for being pregnant. I functioned normally my whole pregnancy. Hell, I did my job better than most anyone else I worked with, and called out less than everyone else. Actually, the only time I didn't go in was because of bad snowstorms, which to me is a viable excuse, because I lived 30 miles away, and everyone else was about 5 miles (or less). Pregnancy doesn't mean you're crippled for 9 months. Unless there is a medical condition that is a threat to yours or your baby's health, most women who have "issues" are merely using it as an excuse to be lazy asses.

 

They should be allowed to, angie. This does not mean they should. Without laws few employers would fire a good employee for being pregnant. Pinko liberals do not understand the power of the free market in reducing odious labor practices.

Well blacks have a convenient excuse for their hatred. We (whites) have enslaved them, oppressed them, and brutalized them for hundreds of years. Or at least thats what they'll tell ya. I think the count is 4-5 states have now listed whites in the minority. I doubt the reverse racism will go away, however. Actually Mexicans are quite proud of it. I hate to say it, but your right. Despite the obvious conflict of interest, it's in black and white (no pun intended) what his rights are. I'm sure this isn't in the best interest of Americans or the particular police department he works for. However the Constitution does not protect him from a spotlight being shed upon him. One slip up and they should shit can his ass. I would be interested in what the rules of employment for his department say in addressing membership in any organizations outside of work. If he was a member of NAMBLA for example, I can't see the Constitution lending him any freedom to do this while maintaining a job as a police officer. In short, he is charged with the responsibility of protecting and serving the people he publicly states that he hates. THIS IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST. How can anyone say this won't interfere with his job?

This is going to sound stereotypical, but damn are they fucking rude. Theres a Shell station around the corner from my home owned by this cocksucker Muslim prick, that has for years aggressively gone after pump-and-run crimes. As you walk in there is an entire wall of blown up full color pictures of people who have stolen gas. On the counter at the register, same thing taped to it. With warning sings and reward offers everywhere. The thing is, every station in town is pre-pay but that one. Why not make them pre-pay? No more theft of his precious petrol. I think the towley gets off it. I went in there once to get a pack of smokes and a lighter, and the dude was on the phone speaking gibberish to whatever terror cell hes linked to. I had to tell the guy four fucking times what I wanted and he couldn't get it right, as he was to busy planning his next bombing. After the fourth time I picked up a pen from the counter and wrote what I wanted on a piece of receipt paper and handed it to him. He actually told me not to come back if I'm going to be rude. What the fuck? I immediately said "fuck you Osama". All the people in line just busted out roaring with laughter. He then told me "I call officer here and have you go to jail". LOL.
