hugo Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 How we play it different from the computer 1) You make the 8 on the break you win. 2) Only women and children are allowed slop shots, otherwise call your pocket (occassionally, call your shot) 3) You don't lose your shot for pocketing an opponent's ball. Ahhlee Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 When I was a kid, my great aunt and uncle had a pool table at their house and we'd always play at Christmas time when the family got together. The rules you listed is how I learned, too. The men would call their shots and us kids got to play sloppy...lol. Quote

Similar to you. Call the shot if it's going to hit several rails or if you use English or backspin or something, in other words if it isn't obvious just to avoid being called for "slop". As far as pocketing an opponents ball, as long as you drop one of your own and you have to hit one of your own balls first with the cue. So if you want to use an opponents ball to knock one of yours in, you have to hit one of yours into theirs then the ball you want to drop, and it's a must call ahead of the time situation. Quote
DaMan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Make the 8 ball on break you win. No slop. Call shots other than obvious give me's. If you are shooting at the 8 ball and don't hit it you lose. Quote
snafu Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Notice in the computer game how the middle top pocket sucks in the ball as it hits the top right corner of it? watch that and or use it to your advantage. DaMan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I can't even play. Something messed up with my computer and flash. Tried unintstalling and rei-installing flash and still no go. All the other games work though so maybe it is the game. Both side pockets suck the ball in. Quote

I had Old Salt do the same thing to fix that. We both had the same problem. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" DaMan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Was your problem that the game would load and once you'd go to make your first shot it would just freeze right before the stick hit the cue ball? Quote

DaMan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Problem is I can't restore back to before it happened. This is a new computer and it has never worked. I have other problems, can't connect with VPN to work and few other glitches so I'm going to roll back to factory new and start over. I lost power during configuration when I first got it and I think a re-install is better anyway. Quote

It should work on the factory settings. I've been lucky with the updates but I've had two cp's lock up during downloading them. somethings not right with them. I usually have them turned on automatically but I would suggest turning off the updates for now. Is your new cp running Service Pack 1? I haven't seen a new cp anything newer yet. My sons came with SP1 and it was fine. He said he let it update but I didn't get to see it happen. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. DaMan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Went back to factory default. Still no go. SP1 is installed. I'm not going to wipe the disk again since Windows 7 beta will be out soon and I'll install it when it is and then my problems should be ver. Quote
