Guest NewsBot Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 WASHINGTON (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney said Thursday that he sees no reason for President George W. Bush to pre-emptively pardon anyone at the CIA involved in harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists. "I don't have any reason to believe that anybody in the agency did anything illegal," he said.... By DEB RIECHMANN Read the full story. Quote

ImWithStupid Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I tried telling people a year and a half ago to move their retirement accounts to more a more conservative portfolio because it was obvious that housing prices were growing too fast, the market was inflating too fast and the bubble was going to pop, but nobody listened. I lost money in my retirement this last year but not that much compared to those who didn't listen to me. Now in their defense, I think he meant nobody thought it would be this bad. There is proof that attempts were made for the last 4 to 5 years to make changes to the houseing situation but was always met in Congress by the, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" blockages. Quote

There is no defense for our so called "leaders" selling their citizenship into slavery.. and worse yet.. selling the unborn into slavery.. all to maintain their "power" and perceived self importance in this world. He's full of sh t.. this was a conscious effort that began in the early 1990's.. maybe sooner as it was then when it became painfully apparent to me.. and to play dumb does nothing but insult my intelligence. wez Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 And 9/11 was an inside job, and FDR let Pearl Harbor happen, and... I doubt that... You assume money printers, money changers, money lenders and government nepotists are stupid? Sounds kinda naive to me.. Nobody in the history of the world ever thought to use debt and money as a means of control and power and consciously manipulated it to do so, right? Quote
ImWithStupid Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I doubt that... You assume money printers, money changers, money lenders and government nepotists are stupid? Sounds kinda naive to me.. Nobody in the history of the world ever thought to use debt and money as a means of control and power and consciously manipulated it to do so, right? I believe that many of the answers that have been used were short sighted but to insinuate that this was done on purpose is ridiculous. Even if the Federal Government ran completely on budget using only the amount of revenue brought in each year and noting more, Social Security and Medicare would have brought us tens of trillions of dollars in debt through entitlements, just like the UAW retirees contracts are doing to the Big 3 automakers today. The programs looked great to the secular progressives at the time and the problem is people relied on Social Security for retirement. That isn't what it was supposed to be for. It was Social Security Insurance in case your retirement savings fell short. It caused a change in mentality in the people who didn't save because they wanted the government to take care of them and that is the fate of every entitlement program. The same thing will happen with universal heathcare, they say it's for the uninsured or underinsured but once it gets up and running people will quit paying for their own insurance and go on the government dole. It's already been proven in New York and Hawai'i. To just blame government is wrong when it comes to entitlements. Quote
