Ahhlee Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Perhaps you've experienced this, and perhaps you haven't.... When you first encounter someone, have you ever felt an immediate connection with them? They seem familiar and comfortable to you and you have no problem relating to them whatsoever. Then there is the even more rare situation when you encounter someone and you feel like you've known them for 30 years even though you've only just met. You're drawn to one another like magnets and are able to sense the other person from the get go. You feel as if your meeting has been orchestrated by an outside source for a purpose greater than your individual selves. How does this happen? Is it fate/spiritual in nature/God? Is there a basic evolutionary reason that humans would develop these feelings? Is it merely coincidence? What do you all think? Quote
ImWithStupid Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 With some people it just seems like there is some "cosmic connection" that links you to them. It's a strange thing when you think about it. Quote
Old Salt Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Even though there was a language difference, the wife and I seemed to understand each other from the start. It wasn't real easy, but... The rest is history. Quote
DaMan Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Because each of us have remnants from past lives. When we meet a person and connect right away it is because they were either good friends or in some cases lovers of one of our prior selves. Quote

I tend to think along those lines, too. Quote
wez Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I believe in Karma.. and fate.. I think everything happens as it should.. and is perfect.. not that it's predetermined.. but there's always good to be learned from every experience to better myself if I choose and it's always up to me.. Even what may seem like a total heaping of sh t at the time.. sometimes those are the best.. I think our emotions tell us everything we need to know.. and guide us. I don't fight it anymore.. No more supressing anything.. turns everything to sh t.. I've concluded the meaning the life = be happy.. Gonna do my best. And.. I dunno.. but .. yeah.. sometimes you meet someone that everything just feels so right.. someone that makes ya happier than hell just to be with.. Someone who ya compliment with perfectly.. Someone who brings out the best of ya.. and you them.. You recently run into someone that gives ya butterflies Ali?? lol Quote

I can't explain them but it happens. I would like to think Cloaked is right in that it's from a former life we have experienced. I've had dreams of me living in the past before and they seemed so real. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" RegisteredAndEducated Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I don't believe in "past lives" or whatever. I believe in The Golden Rule or "karma" or whatever you want to call it, but that doesn't really pertain to your question... I think that these experiences are probably just God's will. He has a plan, and when we follow his plan, and meet the people he plans for us to meet in the way he plans for us to meet them, then it feels natural. Like we are supposed to be doing exactly what we are doing. sorry for the rambling.... feeling scatterbrained. Hey, "Non-believers" I've just got one thing to say to ya... If you're right, then what difference does it make, it wont matter when we're dead anyway... But if I'm right... Well, hey... Ya better be right...
mercury Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I think you're referring to Fate and Destiny, Brotherman. True Karma is also related to past lives. There's a lot more than "what goes around comes around" in the philosophy. (just thought I'd toss that out there to show how smart I am ) Quote

Chi Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I think it's just chance, coincedence, common interests, some compatibility and some attraction. The rest is up to each party where the relationship goes or doesn't go. Quote
