Guest NewsBot Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Lyndon Johnson signed the Medicare law on July 30, 1965, and 11 months later seniors were receiving coverage. But if President Barack Obama gets to sign a health care overhaul this fall, the uninsured won't be covered until 2013 - after the next presidential election.... By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR More... hugo Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Thank God, congress is so inefficient it takes them three times longer to screw things totally up then it used to. 1 Quote The power to do good is also the power to do harm. - Milton Friedman "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - James Madison
RoyalOrleans Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 How hard is this to understand? Barack Obama and the Democrats don't care about your health. They don't care about your access to health insurance. All they care about is expanding the size of government making sure that you are dependent on it. Take this short, seemingly innocuous article from the Associate Press. The White House is asking Congress to give the executive branch more power to limit Medicare's rising costs. A White House letter to top lawmakers on Friday said the move would be "a critical step forward" in controlling health care costs and providing better care. This type of language should scare you, folks ... "give the executive branch more power" or the government "controlling healthcare costs." I want to know where in the Constitution these powers and duties are written. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.

RoyalOrleans Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Nope, the GOP party is NOT the party of fear and paranoia, what an absurd notion. . . The GOP party? The Grand Old Party party? Are they new? Ohhh... I fukken concur. The Democrats are doing a fan-fukken-tastic job of spreading the fear and paranoia on their fukken own. Obama hits 'fear-mongering' on health care changes Commissar Obama is using scare tactics to convince people that those who nay-say his "angle" are fearmongers. timesjoke Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Bender does not allow himself to see Obama and the Liberals/Socialists using fear tactics, he also never allows himself to see Conservative bills offering alternatives to blindly tossing out trillions of dollars at problems without any direction. Everything about Obama's tactics to force "HIS" healthcare bill is fear mongering. Obama says we need reform "now" but his plan will not help anyone until 2013? Is that now? This is all about power grabbing, not helping people. Tort reform would help people "NOW" causing a drastic reduction to malpractice insurance rates and lower health care costs and increases accross the board of all medical fields. Quote
