Obama remark on black scholar's arrest angers cops

No, he can be running away, as long as you saw him do it, and you tell yourself that the only way he'll be caught is if I kill him.

It seems I might be wrong. You can shoot the bastard for smashing the garden gnome if you catch him doing it, but he has to steal it for you to chase him down and shoot him off of his big wheel.

Now ya got it. Most people need to be killed anyways.

You bitch about a peace officer upholding the peace, but it's different when it comes to your neighbors barking dog.

.

Image don't seem to be working at this time. I got a beagle, pretty much the loudest creature on the face of the planet. I ain't complainin' about no neighbor's barking dog.

The question is not valid to my position that in a free country an officer should not arrest a man in his own home when the officer could simply end the mans' "Disturbing of the peace" by leaving. The officer was not wrong for asking for other identification. That does not mean Gates should be arrested for not providing it. We still live in a free country where you do not have to have an "acceptable" ID on you, much less provide it. In fact, the officer was obviously satisfied that Gates was the legal resident since he was leaving the scene and only arrested Gates when Gates pursued the officer and verbally harranged him.

Yes, the officer was within his rights to ask for Gates ID. I am within my rights to ask the women of JustBS to send nude pics to my email address. They are not obligated to send them.

You Hugo, you said the officer instigated the issue and not Gates.

If the officer was doing his job to ensure the people in a home he had a possible breakin call for belonged there, why was it reasonable for Gates to start screaming at the officer in your mind?

Do you believe all police officers deserve this kind of treatment even when doing the right thing?

Never said Gates was acting reasonable. If failing to act reasonable is a jailable offense women got sumtin to worry about.

Of course, they don't deserve that treatment.

So just to recap:

1 - The officer was doing what he was supposed to be doing, responding to a possible breakin at a residence.

2 - The officer was not being irresponsible or unreasonable in asking to see identification with an address to ensure those in the home he responded to belonged there.

3 - Gates reacted in an unreasonable, insulting and disruptive way, exploding verbally at the officer non-stop for many minutes.

4 - The officer had departed Gates home and was attempting to leave when Gates continued to verbally assault the officer outside of his home.

5 - The officer warned Gates he was being disruptive in an attempt to get him to calm down.

6 - The officer arrested Gates.

7 - You hold the officer to blame.

I'm sorry but the gathered public and the Nation needed to see that even President's Obama's friends are subject to the law and when your screaming at the police just for doing their job that is unreasonable behavior and an attitude check is reasonable.

I find it interesting you refuse to apply any responsibility to people to maintain at least a small measure of self-control.

I watched a couple COPS episodes this weekend and here are a few observations...

•The term "trailer trash" didn't just appear out of thin air.

•Perp's pants never fit

•There are plenty of minorities in prime time television.

•Bad teeth apparently cause criminal behavior

•So, apparently, do neck tattoos.

•What are the rules? Shut up. Once you start lying, police will probe more and catch you in more lies until finally you have the cuffs on and are sitting in the back of the car. Just identify yourself and say no more.

•Nobody ever has a clue as to how those drugs got into their pocket

•If you see a man driving with no shirt on, pull him over. He's a perp

•Sometimes, if you decline permission to search, police will persist and even tell you they don't need permission. They might say that if you say "no" that gives them probably cause to search anyway. Either way, say the answer is still no, you can't search it. If they go and do it anyway, don't interfere or the police will have a reason to arrest you for sure.

•Perps never clean their homes or wash dishes

•Street hookers are just flat-out ugly

It is interesting you feel big government should lock people up for temporary lack of self control that is endangering no one. It is interesting that you feel government officials should be able to arrest people for hurting their feelings. I suppose you favor shutting down talk radio? I suppose those who screamed at the Gestapo got the attitude check they deserved? Wait, few screamed at the Gestapo, or the Stalinist police; I wonder why?

Officer Rapes 16-Year-Old While in Custody, Gets Probation

Officer William D. Welch entered an Alford plea (no admission of guilt but concedes there is enough evidence to convict) and was sentenced to 10 years suspended prison and 3 years of probation and was forced to quit his job as a police officer.

Officer Welch is accused of raping the girl inside the station house. Crucial evidence in the case, the rape kit, the victims clothing, wet wipes containing DNA from the officer and the victim, mysteriously “disappeared” before the trial.

According to the victim’s testimony Officer Welch told the girl that a charge for marijuana possession would “disappear” if the girl preformed the sexual act. She said Officer Welch helped her dispose of the marijuana down the toilet in the station.

That's what she gets for smoking dope. Good ole fashion justice.

So you place all the blame on the only guy not acting like an out of control idiot....why?

The officer followed the law, there was only one wrong, the one started, and maintained by Gates. Gates started the mess, Gates kept the mess going and increased it over a long period of time, and Gates persued his need to shoot off his big mouth out into the public chasing down the officer.

Just letting the officer go was not an option for Gates, but you blame the officer, I wonder if you will hate the police this much if you ever have to dial 911 to get their help one day?

It is interesting you feel big government should lock people up for temporary lack of self control that is endangering no one.

I never said that but is that how you try to hide your hate of authority?

I feel people should be held responsible for their actions hugo, how about you? Nobody forced Gates to act like an out of control idiot. Let him face the result of his big mouth.

Why do you believe one person's lack of self-control means an officer deserves to be abused in such ways?

All Gates had to do was shut the hell up. That would've been the smart thing. How was the cop to know the presedent would intervene?

I realize you all are socialist facists and we have such a chasm in our political philosophies that this debate is not worth continueing. The least government thing to do was for the officer to leave. Gates was in his own home, your home includes your yard, when he was hauled off for talking to authority. A violation of his first amendment rights. If I am in someones home and they start talking to me I will leave. Crowley had the same option. Y'all love big government..I despise it. Y'all the same type that watched Jews dragged from their home in 1940's Germany. It is sad, quite sad.

Sure, compare Gates being arrested for shooting off his mouth to the Holocaust, that shows how reasonable your arguement is.

It is sad you refuse to hold anyone accountable for their own actions hugo. Gates was the only person who did something wrong, but the officer deserved to be treated like a piece of sh!t in your opinion.

What do you suppose Spencer is trying to say?

Definition of folly:

the trait of acting stupidly or rashly

stupidity: a stupid mistake

the quality of being rash and foolish

foolish or senseless behavior

So in this discussion we have Gates' folly, you advocate here that we should shield Gates from his own folly, so clearly you do not agree with your own quote.

You want to fill the world with fools.

No thanks, I will pass on your offer.

Your the pompas behind trying to point me out when other people are also talking, you just can't stand up to what I am saying so you turn to insults, grow up.

You and hugo can mask your hatred of the police in whatever crap you like but my possition is one of responsibility.

In ever debate I have ever gotten into even the abortion ones I have been a consistent supporter of individual responsibility. Too often people like you two hide your desire to escape taking responsibility for your own actions behind claims of other people opressing you, like your so important to the world they have to conspire against you or something.

I hold Gates responsible for his own actions, even the Spencer quote hugo has in his sig is about holding people accountable for their own folly.

In my opinion it is the declining responsibility that is degrading our moral structure. Even our politicians are ignoring their responsibility to instead follow their elitist agendas. Where does it stop RO?
