eddo Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 got this in an e-mail Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the State of California or anywhere else. You have 2 families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". (not undocumented alien, illegal- not here legally) Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California . "Joe Legal" works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes $25/hour with payroll taxes deducted.. "Jose Illegal" also works in construction, has no Social Security Number, and gets paid $15/hour cash "under the table". ________________________________________ Joe Legal: $25/hour x 40 hours = $1,000/week, $52,000/year Now take 30% away for state and federal tax. Joe Legal now has $31,231. Jose Illegal: $15/hour x 40 hours = $600/week, $31,200/year Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200. ________________________________________ Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage: $1,000/month, $12,000/year Joe Legal now has $19,231. Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0 per year Jose Illegal still has $31,200. ________________________________________ Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare Joe Legal pays for food: $1,000/month, $12,000/year Joe Legal now has $ 7,231.00 Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200. ________________________________________ Joe Legal pays rent: $1,000/month, $12,000/year Joe Legal is now in the hole: minus (-) $4,769. Jose Illegal receives a $500/month Federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays rent: $500/month (section 8 housing), 6,000/per year Jose Illegal still has $25,200. ________________________________________ Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work. Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family (and eat out!). ________________________________________ Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored breakfast and lunch, and they also qualify to be "bussed to school" at taxpayer expense. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children have to find a way to get to school and go home after school -- as "latch-key kids" with no adult supervision. ________________________________________ Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay. Jose Illegal can send most of his money back home to build a new home for retirement, have money to buy a new truck, and still have Medi-Cal benefits while living in a foreign country (until someone turns him in to authorities ... if they ever find out)!! Joe will be lucky if he has any money for retirement, a new vehicle, medical/dental benefits, or a place to live. ________________________________________ I have done the math; all you have to do is to look at it yourself. Don't hire illegal aliens. Don't vote for any politician that supports illegal aliens. And most important of all, write your politicians and let them know how you feel. One more thing: Jose illegal's wife claims "single, no head of Household" and collects additional benefits that Joe's legal wife cannot claim. No wonder our country is in trouble. CAN A REVOLUTION BE FAR AWAY? The government cannot give to anyone anything that it does not first take from someone else-- Quote I'm trusted by more women.

timesjoke Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 The government cannot give to anyone anything that it does not first take from someone else-- Very true, I agree completely. The next step is to severely reduce welfare so we will have workers who want the jobs the illegals are doing. Right now people would rather live on welfare and sit on their behinds than to make more money but have to work very hard in the sun. This is one of the biggest reasons we have illegals in the first place. Quote
Ahhlee Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 So true and so frustrating! I think we need an independent to run in 2012....sh!t, I volunteer IWS, eddo and RO to do it as I believe they have more common sense independently than all of the yokels in Washington combined! Their campaign slogan could be: Something's Gotta Give! (or we're ALL fukked) Quote
phreakwars Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 It's simple. Go after the law breaking, tax cheat, employers. If the employers weren't breaking the law and cheating on their taxes in the first place. The illegal alien wouldn't have a job, and thus would not be here in the first place. . . 1 Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars

I agree, we should be doing both, all laws should be enforced. I have supported massive fines for everyone who hires illegals, including all the rich people who hire them for domestic service. I believe $1 million dollar fines for each violation is fair. Quote

If the employers weren't breaking the law and cheating on their taxes in the first place. The illegal alien wouldn't have a job, and thus would not be here in the first place. . . Definitely. There needs to be consequences for both those who come and work illegally and for those that hire illegal immigrants. The last administration mostly focused on those working illegally, the current administration all but ignores the workers an is only going after employers. We need both and we also need to expand programs to allow more temporary workers to legally be able to come and work in the agriculture business and such. It's a known certainty that the US will need the support of these workers, but to just allow those who avoided the legal way to be citizens while punishing those who did the right thing and waited or waded through the red tape to come in through the front door as opposed to jumping the fence, is wrong. More jail time would help too. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller NEVER FORGOTTEN

I agree that the businesses need to have the risk of serious consequences that make it more unsavory to hire illegals than the hiring of illegals saves them but, the illegal immigrants must also be held accountable.
