timesjoke Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Is it just me or has the coverage of Obama changed completely in the last couple days? I have even seen a few less than rosy stories about Obama on ABC and they even handed over their Network for a fake town hall meeting to Obama just a short time ago........ I have seen some discord at the ground level reporters anyway for a long time but they were kept mostly in check by their bosses at the Networks but suddenly things are different. Suddenly it seems like many people are just waking up enough to actually look pasy Obama's pretty words and see the reality of what he is doing. The question of a change is not really as important as the "why" in my opinion. My theory is two sided: 1 - On the whole Americans believe our Country is a good Nation and we donate more to charity than any other populace in the world. When Obama preches about the unfairness of America it turns people off because their view of America is not the ugly one Obama talks about. We need to see more of a positive representation of America by our top political leader. 2 - Defending Gates' over reaction and nasty treatment of a cop just doing his job has forced people to remember his long association with people like Wright and wonder about his true agenda. Obama has changed a lot from the guy who was running for office. Each time something like Rev. Wright would come up Obama would offer some weak excuse and the majority of America would give him the benefit of the doubt....... The benefit of the doubt only lasts as long as the doubt though, and then you lose the benefit. Is Obama to be the next generation of race pimp? Quote
ImWithStupid Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 It sure seems like the media is slowly but surely coming around to actually question what's going on. The change in the attitude of the press seemed to start after Helen Thomas took Robert Gibbs to the wood shed over the sham of a town hall meeting they were going to have at the ABC White House infomercial. Since then it seems to have first spread to CNN having some damning stories on Obama, and now is infiltrating everywhere, even to an extent at the New York Times. As for President Obama changing alot since the campaign, I think he's pretty much the same person, it's just that back then most people couldn't see past the hopey, changey thing to actually see who he is and actually hear what he said. I agree with this and was trying to say that myself but I guess I didn't do a good job of it. From day one I said there was no way Obama cound do the things he was promising. I think your right about Helen Thomas, she has been like a rock in the Whitehouse press corp and for her to take Obama to task it had to turn some heads in their community. I am just hoping the Networks move back to reporting instead of being part of the Obama administration. Quote
Old Salt Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Can I add another hypothesis? Could it be that the MSM is mad because Obama isn't moving fast enough to make his changes for them? Quote
timesjoke Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 A friend of mine sent me some stories about how a guy named Lou Dobbs on CNN has brought up the Obama birth cirtificate thing again. Dobbs says that he does believe Obama is an American but that he owes America the respect to it's process to produce the birth cirtificate and put the matter to rest. I have to say I agree with Dobbs on this, something is wrong when the President believes he is above the system. Quote
