Not as long as it is publicly funded with tax dollars there won't be any fair competition. Sure, I know you can send a letter FedEx or UPS, but does every American have access to a drop off. The pimps at the USPS have mailboxes, but other parcel services have a drop off box near a Captain D's, an Old Navy, or a strip mall.
