I am looking for a truly different recipe to try.

I love to cook and have a wide range of meals now but I am looking for something really different to try.

I see some stuff on the internet but you never know if they are just crazy combinations or really good so if someone has something they believe is truly different but also very good please share it with me.

What do you feel like?

I'm an excellent cook and do particularly well at duplication...give me an idea...I'll give you a recipe.

I'm making borscht tonite lol. It's a delight...and horrifyingly red!

I've got a pretty good meatloaf recipe, but, like with most of my recipes, I make it up as I go along.

I could try to figure out the measurements for you.

And like emkay asked...what kind of ideas are you looking for? Exotic? Quick and easy? Casseroles?

Ooooh, may I come over for supper? It sounds macabre! :D

Well I already do a lot of italian and some mexican meals.

I just started doing some Asian cooking, I have come up with my own eggrolls that I love, I am not really sure what I want, I figured you guys would have completely different kinds of cooking.

I like sauces, my slow cooker is my favorite kitchen tool. Soups and breads are very good and I make them pretty often.

I grill three nights a week, I just love the taste of grilled food but even that can get old after awile. I have been experimenting with different marinades and some of them are pretty good.

I do like meatloafs Ali, I also do most of my cooking from the hip but I like to take a recipe and make it as-is the first time to help me determine how I want to customise it for myself.

I'll see if I can figure out that recipe. I wrote it down once for a friend of mine and she calls it "fancy meatloaf". Her husband actually claims he decided he was going to propose to her after she served it to him....lol.

I also found a great slow cooker lasagna recipe that is really easy. I served it at our Christmas party this year and everyone loved it! I added some extra stuff, as I am wont to do, so I'll see if I can't track down that recipe and try to recall what kind of stuff I added.

Then you'll be my favorite.

Apparently fruit pizza will trump my peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.

I know I never got a proposal. :p

Dare to be different. Try some English dishes, or a Russian dish. Hungarian and German are good too.

Nothing like some homemade batter dipped fish and chips with some Yorkshire pudding.

Batter dipped frog legs are always good too. :)

Speaking of English fare, I'm sorta partial to a good Shepherd's Pie. Krem Caramel for desert.

English cooking does tend to be a bit bland, though.

Funny you should mention Shepard's Pie. I'm making some this weekend. I agree about it being a bit bland.. Nothing a half cup or so of Pace Picante Sauce?™ can't fix. :D

I'll usually do mine with cabbage on the bottom and mashed potatoes on top with a nice smothering of cheese, then rebake till the cheese is melted.

GOD I'm hungry !!

I cheat and use frozen mixed vegetables. And mashed potatoes is the standard topping. Of course I mash my own - no instant for me.

It's daughter's favorite dish (that I make, anyway).

I use ground beef and pork. I don't like my lamb ground, I only like it as a chop or roast. Using the cabbage comes from my grandma. That's the way she would do it. I find it's easiest to use shredded cabbage slaw instead of pissing around and layering all that cabbage. And the word INSTANT isn't used in my house unless your talking about pudding.

I don't do cabbage. I don't like vegetables all pretty much. For my greens I just eat salad. I also have been eating those veggie burgers. There not to bad really.

Instant pudding sucks. Gotta be either from scratch or regular boxed stuff.

I love Shepard's Pie, the cabbage sounds interesting, I will give that a try. I do beef, lamb mixed in it. Only hand mashed for me as well, instant mashed suck.

On of my favorite meals is actually very simple, chicken and rice. I like to add celery and I use a little Tarragon and Marjoram in it to give it a different flavor. Pretty much averyone who trys it comments on how good it is.....of course you have to have cornbread baked in an iron skillet to go with it ;)

Something very different I cook is I take pork ribs and cut them up to fit in my slowcooker. I then pour equal amounts of pineapple juce and grapefruit juce over them till covered. A little fresh crushed garlic, cover and cook.

Veggie burgers taste better with bacon.

This may sound like sacrilege to most of the regular posters, but I don't eat pork, or pork products.
