Ahhlee Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I find this disturbing. I was out with my male friends the other night and my best friend started telling tales of some of his latest conquests. You'd probably think I would tune out such conversations, but I've found I've learned A LOT about how some men think about and view the opposite sex by noting these discussions. One of Monday's tales went something like this: So me and my buddy were at the bar, and there were a couple of chicks standing over by the juke box that looked pretty decent. I motioned them over and asked the brunette, "Hey, can I smell your pussy?". "No!", she said. "Oh, it must be your feet then," I replied, and my buddy started rolling! At first the chick was pissed and walked off but then she came back and started buying us drinks. I ended up fukking her that night. She was alright. ..... After he finished his story, I just stared at him in disbelief, for two reasons: #1) I couldn't believe he would attempt to say something so crass to a woman he didn't even know....or ANY woman, really. #2) She FELL FOR THAT LINE!!!!! I hate the bar. I'll go to drink socially and maybe get my karaoke on, but I refuse to go alone and just find the whole meat market scene disgusting. This area is terrible for men being rude, bumbling jackasses toward women yet they still score! I was bombarded with bad pickup lines bordering on the obscene when I first moved home and got so sick of it that now I just ignore guys who try to hit on me and concentrate on enjoying the group I'm with and doing my own thing. I think it's sad that women are willing to fall for men who have all the charm of a diseased warthog, but if they do and get burned I certainly don't pity them after the fact. So my question is, have you used any bad pick up lines that have worked? Or have any bad pick up lines worked on you? Quote

snafu Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 OK so my wife's friend and boy friend might be breaking up. We?ll call them Jack and Jill. Anyway they were doing honky dory and even talking about marriage. Jack is younger and is pretty buff. He likes to work out but he?s a real nice guy. Jill is a little older and has put on a few pounds but she not to bad looking. Jack gets a job flying around to different states for about a month. A few places he went was Hawaii and Florida. Well the other day Jack calls up Jill and says that for some reason he went through her old emails and found out about a fling she had before they even got together. He was brought up in a religious background so he does have some morals. On the other hand when we went out one time he was spot checking ever ass in the bar. Anyway she never told him about it so he says they should break up. Based on just this scenario what is your call on this? I mean, why the hell else would he be going through her old emails (personally, I would fukking BEAT any guy who pulled that crap on me) and using an old fling that happened before they were even together as a solid basis for ending their relationship? And usually the one who is looking that deep for reasons to accuse their loved one of cheating is the cheater himself/herself. Sounds to me like she's better off cutting this one loose, but that's just my opinion. Quote

What? Your wife isn't talking to you because your opinion of her friend's love drama differs from her own? Uhhhhh.....snaf, honey, we need to talk. LOL! Quote

snafu Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Well it's her best friend and I had the audacity to suggest such a thing. When I told her about the bar thing she said he was probably trying to look macho around me. Who knows maybe the amount of guys Jill has slept with makes a difference in how much he can love her. When I told her about the bar thing she said he was probably trying to look macho around me. So what if it's her best friend? I still don't see why you are being punished for giving your opinion on someone else's love life. Who knows maybe the amount of guys Jill has slept with makes a difference in how much he can love her. That mentality really pisses me off. I have a friend who has slept with a total of four men while her husband has only slept with two women and he lords her "soiled past" over her all the time. It's so stupid! He asked her how many men she had slept with, she told him, and now it's a constant sore spot between them in their marriage. Why past lovers has any bearing on a current relationship, so long as the past lovers are IN THE PAST, is beyond me. Hell, I like for a guy to be a little jealous but being punished for the men in my life from days gone by is taking things too far. Quote

Look macho in front of you? lol. Come on now. If the guy was smart and he cared he would be on his best behavior in front of you because he knows your wife is that lady's best friend. He probably IS doing everything he can to have an excuse to cut her lose. He's probably already moved on and was hoping you would run to tell your wife what he was doing, so her friend would break up with him. Quote

timesjoke Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Well on topic I believe this goes back to the "booty call" mentality many women have turned to these days, if you don't even want a dinner before you let a stranger screw you, why not a bad line and even buy the guy drinks? Maybe his indifference to the woman to be so crude painted him as not really interested in sex with her so now he was a challenge........ I don't have a clue why women fall for that stuff, I guess because they want to, but guys, them I understand, guys want sex, and many (not all) will "hit" anything they can get to hold still long enough. Find the ugliest woman in the bar and watch her......maybe not when the night is young, but as the night wears on, guys will start hitting on her and at closing time, she will be snatched up by someone (if she wants it). snaf.... I don't really understand.......is your wife taking "Jack's" side? You seem to be saying the guy is just looking for excuses, that would be supportive of "Jill", why would your wife not like you being supportive of her best friend? Sounds strange to be honest. I don't get involved in relationships with friends, it is a dead end road that forces people to choose sides and even get ugly with one party. I refuse. The only people who know what was happening with these two people are them, it is impossible to know all the little details that could be upsetting one or the other but they are not sharing all the details......let me give you an example from me being strange: I hate.....let me say this again, I hate it when someone brushes their teeth then spray little spit/paste dots on my mirror. I also hate the blop of ketchup under the lid of a squeeze bottle, gross. Little details like that may not be noticed while two people are still in the 'lust' phase of their relationship but sooner or later as things cool off to a more standard relationship, the little irritations start showing up and suddenly, excuses to not stay together will appear. atlantic Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Snafu, CB, I know you have been going out of your way to enhance your relationship with your wife; but please do not become a DOORMAT. You are entitled to your opinion, and should be able to speak about it without your spouse becoming angry. Perhaps you and I should sign up for wifeswap, my spouse would scare her straight - lol. You are right about this man, he's an ass and as Ali says looking for an excuse. If someone has to snoop through someone's emails - they shouldn't be together. PS: I love you man Quote Do the right thing!
