RoyalOrleans Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj8WHtQMb-4&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Pelosi Generates Tears of Idiocy[/ame] Is Nancy Pelosi losing it? Or is she after an Oscar? You saw here, didn't you? There she was yesterday during her weekly press avail getting all weepy-eyed over the harsh rhetoric aimed at her party's attempt to take over our health care. She says that she's afraid that all of this rhetoric is going to lead to violence. I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw ... I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and ... I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made." Some of the people hearing the message "are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume. I'm curious if Princess Nancy is referring to the violence in SF that happened AFTER the Milk murder and Dan White conviction...because the violence in the city was from the GAY community. They were the ones rioting in the streets and leaving a path of destruction in their wake (fires, looting, damaging police cruisers, etc.). Are the people for liberty and freedom analogous to Milk's murderer or the gay community? Someone needs to ask her the question. The Republicans aren't taking too kindly to this comparison. Rep. Pete Sessions called Pelosi's comment a "verbal assault on voters." He says, "Voters are justifiably frustrated with Washington, and the Speaker's verbal assault on voters accomplishes nothing other than furthering her reputation for being wildly out of touch with the American people." The Democrats are engaged in a mental and emotional breakdown. Here they are almost nine months into the hopey-changey thing, and they've done nothing. Card check, nationalized health care, cap-and-tax ... all losers so far. Democrats are beside themselves. Earlier this week they were telling us that all of their wonderful ideas for America are being rejected because the people just don't like a black man in the White House. Now they're telling us that all of this opposition to these wonderful leftist programs are going to lead to violence and political assassinations. Can't wait to see what's next. Ahhlee Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 THERE'S NO CRYING IN POLITICS, NANCY!!!!! Well, there shouldn't be anyway. Since the conservatives are often chastized for their "fear mongering" would this little act of Nancy's be considered "pussy pandering"? Just wonderin'. Quote
phreakwars Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Yeah, it's all a big fukking joke isn't it? I was watching news with my little girl tonight, a story about the President came on about all the Nazi symbols, guns, etc... She said to me, that some of the kids in her class want to kill Obama. I asked her why they want to kill him, she said they didn't know why, they just do..... WHAT THE HAS OUR WORLD COME TO ?? My daughter is only in the 4th grade. Is this what people are teaching their kids? Sure go ahead and knock Pelosi for trying to make people rationalize their hateful remarks. You all make me sick. I have fukking had it with this site. Goodbye. . . Quit watching MSLSD and your daughter won't see the few wakkos signs out there. Nancy Pelosi makes me sick. What is she talking about? The Democrat, lone psychopath that killed Harvey Milk and the Mayor of SF? He was a wakko and Nancy's fellow wakko friends let him get away with murder with his "Twinky Defense". Where was your feigned disgust with all the cries for Bush and Cheney to be assassinated, have his pacemaker fail, burning them in effigy, etc... for eight years. I thought those statements, the vast majority of Americans think those statements are horrible. When you can be consistent, I'll value your alleged disgust. 1 Quote

Goodbye. . . My kids have relayed similar comments to me, too, Bender. It's a sad world we live in where people teach their children to hate that way... I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't believe anyone is for teaching children to hate or want to kill a public figure simply because of the color of his skin. Are there some in this country who will spread that kind of hate? Yes! Is it the majority of Americans? I would have to emphatically say No. I live in a VERY racist area. I overhear people expressing their frustration over healthcare, taxes, unemployment and the bailouts. Not once...not even once....have I heard anyone talking about "killing that n President". Bender, I would really hate to see you leave this site on account of this, because I don't think that was the intent of this thread at all. I hope you will reconsider. [The Democrats are engaged in a mental and emotional breakdown. Here they are almost nine months into the hopey-changey thing, and they've done nothing. Now they're telling us that all of this opposition to these wonderful leftist programs are going to lead to violence and political assassinations. Can't wait to see what's next. Agreed. So many Americans are frustrated with what the Democratic party is doing right now. All we are hearing about is spending more, and more and MORE money but where is it getting us? People just aren't willing to be hand fed these socialist ideas and now the Dems are being forced to try to justify exactly what their hope...and change...is really about and really going to cost us. We're frustrated. They're frustrated. But pinning the overall skepticism of the Democrat's plans and intentions on the color of our President's skin rather than the inherent flaws in the plans themselves? Now to me, THAT reeks of racism. 1 Quote
mercury Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I don't claim to know WHY people are saying these things (the color of his skin, bad poilicy, his big ears, what his mother named him, whatever...) but children stating that the president needs to die is sooooo very out of line with my way of thinking. The kids are getting these ideas from somewhere, and since it's never a good idea to spout these kinds of things publicly, I can only assume that they are hearing them within their own homes, then repeating them elsewhere. Ignoring that there is currently a serious division in our county and poo-pooing the idea that hatred, from whatever source of reasoning it's coming from, is bad news. Democrats blaming it all on race is not the answer. But Republican's denying that it is an issue is not healthy either. I will say one thing that the last couple of administrations have been very successful at: dividing us at our very core. I won't be surprised to see another American Civil War if both sides of the aisle can't learn to work together for the good of us all. Isn't that their job? We're frustrated. They're frustrated. But pinning the overall skepticism of the Democrat's plans and intentions on the color of our President's skin rather than the inherent flaws in the plans themselves? Now to me, THAT reeks of racism. Agreed. It's just the easiest answer. Quote

hugo Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 This article accurately reflects my views on the subject: A Tackle Box Full of Race Bait Hearing racism whether or not it?s warranted is called prejudice. By Jonah Goldberg Of all the poisonous, ugly, and intellectually vapid controversies ginned up in my lifetime, the current breakout of St. Vitus? Dance over the ?racist? opposition to Barack Obama may be the most egregious. Al Sharpton tells CNN?s Larry King that decent and racially sensitive Americans shouldn?t let a small minority make health care into a ?racial issue.? Someone in the control room surely yelled, ?Cue the laugh track!? In case you don?t get the joke, this entire ?debate? over whether opposition to Obama?s health-care reform is racist is totally, completely, and in every way conceivable an invention of the Left. Oh, sure, there are some racists who oppose Obama. Shocking news, that. And, yes, a tiny, tiny fraction of the signs at the Tea Party protests last weekend were racially insensitive. But if that?s how we?re going to score, then opposition to the Iraq War is anti-Semitic. After all, I saw a bunch of signs at antiwar protests that said bigoted things about Jews. Meanwhile, no significant conservative politician, pundit, or intellectual has said that they object to Obama?s agenda because he?s black. Rather, they?ve said they oppose his agenda for precisely the same reasons they oppose Nancy Pelosi?s and Harry Reid?s and Barney Frank?s agendas. They stand athwart Obama yelling ?Stop!? just as they did with Clinton and Democratic presidents before him. Magically, the alchemic powers of Obama?s black skin transmogrify the same arguments and the same rhetoric into racism. Saying ?you?re wrong? to a white politician is a disagreement; saying it to a black politician is like shouting through Bull Connor?s megaphone. It?s been said that a grand jury can indict a ham sandwich. Well, these people can indict a ham sandwich for being racist. There is not an issue, topic, or flavor of ice cream that Al Sharpton won?t inject racism into. But suddenly Larry King needs to ask him whether opposition to socialized medicine is racist ? as if Sharpton?s response was ever in doubt. Why not just ask the host of an infomercial whether you really need a ShamWow? Left-wing writers spent the week droning on about how it?s now racist to say ?I want my country back.? These amnesiacs are blissfully unaware that ?taking back? America was the rallying cry of the Democratic party for eight years under George W. Bush. Anti-white racists all? Jimmy Carter sighs, ?It?s an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply.? Well, ditto. Except I think the abominable circumstance is the Vesuvian eruption of nonsense belched forth from distempered liberals frustrated by their inability to win a public-policy debate. An ?overwhelming proportion? of the vocal opposition to Obama stems from the ?inherent feeling? that ?an African-American should not be president,? testifies the de facto voice of Southern self-loathing and pharisaical pomposity. Really, President Carter? Based on what? Polls you?ve studied? Which ones? Or did you descend from the temple of the Carter Center, flee your enabling entourage of sycophants, and canvass some neighborhoods yourself? How many people told you they don?t think a black man should be president? One? Two? Zero? Or are you simply reading minds again? The good news is that the race peddlers have undermined themselves. The notion that opposing skyrocketing deficits and socialized medicine is racist is met with eye rolls by the vast majority of Americans, who do not need Sharpton and Carter to tell them what is ? or is not ? in their own hearts. And, in fairness, when it became clear that Carter had turned this ?debate? from mere fraud to farce, it suddenly dawned on some Democrats, including those in the White House, that smearing millions of constituents and swing voters (many of whom voted for Obama) as racists isn?t the best politics. So one cheer for those who objected to this idiocy too little and far too late. But others just won?t let go. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times hears Rep. Joe Wilson shout, ?You lie!? And her instinctive response is: ?Fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!? It?s the ?fair or not? that gives Dowd away. She admits to hearing racism whether or not it?s warranted. That?s called prejudice. And unlike Wilson?s foolish outburst, Dowd?s was carefully considered. Dowd, Carter and Sharpton can?t grasp that conservatives are less hung up on race than they are and that we can get past Obama?s skin color. ?Some people just can?t believe a black man is president and will never accept it,? writes Dowd. She?s right. She?s one of them. 1 Quote The power to do good is also the power to do harm. - Milton Friedman "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - James Madison

Goodbye. . . lol, I put this on par for justBS to the Pelosi crying.......fake.....fake.......fake. Bender, if you want to blame anyone for this blame your own party, they are the driving force trying to make everyone who does not agree with socialist agendas look like racists.....well maybe you guys just created a few more.....ever think about that? What do you think would upset a white guy more than falsely calling him a racist? I doubt that the kids were actually saying they wanted to kill Obama, and even if they did you reporting it would have these kids removed from their parent's care on the spot by children's services. Maybe your choice of news and your little girl hearing over and over again about how whites are racists has planted a seed in her head that talking like this will get her more attention from her father? Maybe? My children have come home telling me how other kids could fly or how their teacher was magic and could make pencils appear out of the air......did I swallow it as truth? Nope. I think you need to look into this a tad deeper Bender, and certainly do not blame anyone here for anything. You never said one word against all the death wishes against Bush, not one word....... When the liberal movie about killing Bush came out, did you say liberals were wrong or bad for wanting Bush dead? Did you ever defend Bush the way you blindly follow Obama? You dodge almost every direct question asked you because your the perpetual excuse machine for Obama but you claim "WE" make you sick? It is not our fault that Obama has made so many mistakes and nobody can face the hard questions without playing the "race card". Quote

True, many words are used for their ability to get noticed, to draw attention to their isses. In this case Bender speaks of, I have heard little kids call someone a before, when asked if they know what it means they look at you with blank eyes. Kids sometimes do the parrot thing and have no idea what it is they are truly saying. The question is, where did they hear it? Is it possible CNN news was on at home and the kids heard it there and the parents actually had nothing to do with it? Maybe some older kids on the buss trying to get the little ones in trouble? I remember doing a tiny bit of that myself when I was younger. Quote

snafu Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Yeah I guess I shouldn't have thrown in that last line. That was out of context to my message. We did get another dog that was owned by an older lady that died. My daughter got her and can't keep her. They say the dog is only three but I think she's older. We will put her on Craig's list or keep her. She needs someone to cuddle with and nobody here has the time. Bailey (my 96 pound white lab and husky) is my dog and he keeps me pretty busy.
