Is Nancy Pelosi losing it? Or is she after an Oscar? You saw here, didn't you? There she was yesterday during her weekly press avail getting all weepy-eyed over the harsh rhetoric aimed at her party's attempt to take over our health care. She says that she's afraid that all of this rhetoric is going to lead to violence.

 

I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw ... I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and ... I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made." Some of the people hearing the message "are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume.

 

I'm curious if Princess Nancy is referring to the violence in SF that happened AFTER the Milk murder and Dan White conviction...because the violence in the city was from the GAY community. They were the ones rioting in the streets and leaving a path of destruction in their wake (fires, looting, damaging police cruisers, etc.). Are the people for liberty and freedom analogous to Milk's murderer or the gay community? Someone needs to ask her the question.

 

The Republicans aren't taking too kindly to this comparison. Rep. Pete Sessions called Pelosi's comment a "verbal assault on voters." He says, "Voters are justifiably frustrated with Washington, and the Speaker's verbal assault on voters accomplishes nothing other than furthering her reputation for being wildly out of touch with the American people."

 

The Democrats are engaged in a mental and emotional breakdown. Here they are almost nine months into the hopey-changey thing, and they've done nothing. Card check, nationalized health care, cap-and-tax ... all losers so far. Democrats are beside themselves. Earlier this week they were telling us that all of their wonderful ideas for America are being rejected because the people just don't like a black man in the White House. Now they're telling us that all of this opposition to these wonderful leftist programs are going to lead to violence and political assassinations.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't believe anyone is for teaching children to hate or want to kill a public figure simply because of the color of his skin. Are there some in this country who will spread that kind of hate? Yes! Is it the majority of Americans? I would have to emphatically say No.

 

I live in a VERY racist area. I overhear people expressing their frustration over healthcare, taxes, unemployment and the bailouts. Not once...not even once....have I heard anyone talking about "killing that n President".

So many Americans are frustrated with what the Democratic party is doing right now. All we are hearing about is spending more, and more and MORE money but where is it getting us? People just aren't willing to be hand fed these socialist ideas and now the Dems are being forced to try to justify exactly what their hope...and change...is really about and really going to cost us.

 

We're frustrated. They're frustrated. But pinning the overall skepticism of the Democrat's plans and intentions on the color of our President's skin rather than the inherent flaws in the plans themselves? Now to me, THAT reeks of racism.

I don't claim to know WHY people are saying these things (the color of his skin, bad poilicy, his big ears, what his mother named him, whatever...) but children stating that the president needs to die is sooooo very out of line with my way of thinking. The kids are getting these ideas from somewhere, and since it's never a good idea to spout these kinds of things publicly, I can only assume that they are hearing them within their own homes, then repeating them elsewhere.

 

Ignoring that there is currently a serious division in our county and poo-pooing the idea that hatred, from whatever source of reasoning it's coming from, is bad news.

 

Democrats blaming it all on race is not the answer. But Republican's denying that it is an issue is not healthy either.

 

I will say one thing that the last couple of administrations have been very successful at: dividing us at our very core. I won't be surprised to see another American Civil War if both sides of the aisle can't learn to work together for the good of us all. Isn't that their job?

In case you don?t get the joke, this entire ?debate? over whether opposition to Obama?s health-care reform is racist is totally, completely, and in every way conceivable an invention of the Left.

 

Oh, sure, there are some racists who oppose Obama. Shocking news, that.

 

And, yes, a tiny, tiny fraction of the signs at the Tea Party protests last weekend were racially insensitive. But if that?s how we?re going to score, then opposition to the Iraq War is anti-Semitic. After all, I saw a bunch of signs at antiwar protests that said bigoted things about Jews.

 

Meanwhile, no significant conservative politician, pundit, or intellectual has said that they object to Obama?s agenda because he?s black. Rather, they?ve said they oppose his agenda for precisely the same reasons they oppose Nancy Pelosi?s and Harry Reid?s and Barney Frank?s agendas. They stand athwart Obama yelling ?Stop!? just as they did with Clinton and Democratic presidents before him.

 

Magically, the alchemic powers of Obama?s black skin transmogrify the same arguments and the same rhetoric into racism. Saying ?you?re wrong? to a white politician is a disagreement; saying it to a black politician is like shouting through Bull Connor?s megaphone.

Left-wing writers spent the week droning on about how it?s now racist to say ?I want my country back.? These amnesiacs are blissfully unaware that ?taking back? America was the rallying cry of the Democratic party for eight years under George W. Bush. Anti-white racists all?

 

Jimmy Carter sighs, ?It?s an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply.?

 

Well, ditto. Except I think the abominable circumstance is the Vesuvian eruption of nonsense belched forth from distempered liberals frustrated by their inability to win a public-policy debate.

Really, President Carter? Based on what? Polls you?ve studied? Which ones? Or did you descend from the temple of the Carter Center, flee your enabling entourage of sycophants, and canvass some neighborhoods yourself? The good news is that the race peddlers have undermined themselves. The notion that opposing skyrocketing deficits and socialized medicine is racist is met with eye rolls by the vast majority of Americans, who do not need Sharpton and Carter to tell them what is ? or is not ? in their own hearts.

 

And, in fairness, when it became clear that Carter had turned this ?debate? from mere fraud to farce, it suddenly dawned on some Democrats, including those in the White House, that smearing millions of constituents and swing voters (many of whom voted for Obama) as racists isn?t the best politics. So one cheer for those who objected to this idiocy too little and far too late.

 

But others just won?t let go. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times hears Rep. Joe Wilson shout, ?You lie!? And her instinctive response is: ?Fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!?

 

It?s the ?fair or not? that gives Dowd away. She admits to hearing racism whether or not it?s warranted. That?s called prejudice. And unlike Wilson?s foolish outburst, Dowd?s was carefully considered. Dowd, Carter and Sharpton can?t grasp that conservatives are less hung up on race than they are and that we can get past Obama?s skin color. ?Some people just can?t believe a black man is president and will never accept it,? writes Dowd. She?s right. She?s one of them.

True, many words are used for their ability to get noticed, to draw attention to their isses. In this case Bender speaks of, I have heard little kids call someone a before, when asked if they know what it means they look at you with blank eyes.

 

 

Kids sometimes do the parrot thing and have no idea what it is they are truly saying. The question is, where did they hear it? Is it possible CNN news was on at home and the kids heard it there and the parents actually had nothing to do with it?
