RoyalOrleans Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Barack Obama and the White House have decided that their $787 billion economic stimulus bill has been a success. How do they figure?? They base this on the fact that as many as a quarter of the jobs that have "saved or created" are government school teachers. The chief economic adviser for Joe Biden says that recent data shows that at least 250,000 educational jobs have been saved or created. Oddly enough, no one has actually SEEN this report. The Republicans point out that 250,000 jobs were lost last month alone and 3 million have been lost since the economic stimulus bill was signed. But don't slow us down with the facts! Let's celebrate that we have done exactly what we wanted to do: get more people on the government payroll. After all, folks, remember that these teachers are nothing more than glorified government bureaucrats. They are paid by the government, report to the government, abide by government regulations to fulfill their jobs requirement ... they are government employees. So we spend $787 billion to provide pork barrel projects and hire more government workers. That sounds like stimulus to me! Keep in mind that data released last week by the federal government found that federal contracts paid for with stimulus money created or saved 30,383 jobs. That is not a lot of jobs, folks. In fact, the White House at one point had a goal of saving or creating 3.5 million jobs over two years. There is a pretty big gap between 30,000 and 3.5 million, wouldn't you say? So when in doubt, emphasize the fact that you kept the government school teachers around and hope that Americans are too ignorant to realize that the darn thing isn't working. And while we're at it .. you do know this whole "created or saved" thing is a crock, don't you? There is no way the government can accurately tell you how many jobs have been "saved" by stimulus spending. What we have here is the local governments telling the federal government "Oh yeah! Thanks for the money! If it hadn't been for that money we would have fired a bunch of people!" Buuullllsheeeeet! This is nothing but a transparent PR scam designed to convince the public that this stimulus plan is working. Try to get some private business to talk about jobs saved. I mean, sh!t, do any of you want to hear the woes of RO and his paint and body shop? It's depressing! You get a warm and fuzzy, hopey-changey entropic feeling when you are coerced into believing your vote wasn't in error! timesjoke Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 "Oh yeah! Thanks for the money! If it hadn't been for that money we would have fired a bunch of people!" And the other part they don't tell you is teachers would not have been the first to go. They would still have the same number of children in classrooms so they would still need the teachers, if any jobs were saved it was office workers, not teachers. Sure, some teachers may go eventually, but that would not have been the first cuts. I have sat in many school board meetings where cutting money was discussed, there are few things that get the voters screaming against their local officials more than cutting teachers when they look around and see a hundred people working in offices that are not even close to a classroom much less actually teaching a child. If I don't sell, I'm going to break my back working 16 hour shifts/ 7 day per week next year just to save on payroll because the taxes are killing me. Of course then I'll be making more income and get taxed on that anyway, so either way I lose. It's so discouraging all the way around. Want to be a meth whore entrepreneur with me, RO? I'm sure the company could use a strong pimp hand to keep the bitches in line. Quote

So I guess the general question to ask now is " Are you better off now than you were January 19, 2009?" I'd love to see that "statistic". Want to be a meth whore entrepreneur with me, RO? I know my fukken answer. I bet I know yours, too. What are the hours? We're starting the company from the ground up. Your input on the matter would be much appreciated. I'm thinking flex hours might be the way to go. That way I can work in a daily meth fix and still find time to apply for free housing and food stamps before it's time to start giving $20 blowjobs to strangers. And you'll need time to attend business classes between shopping for leopard print scarves, deep purple velveteen suits, diamond tipped walking canes and beating me bloody for "holding". Plus Friday can be casual attire day. This is going to be AWESOME!!!! Quote
