timesjoke Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 IWS inspired a thought in my mind, if you could pick one movie to be reality and you were living in that reality, what movie would you select and also what character would you like to be? I should say the Matrix and Neo just so I can be with Trinity, man she is hot in that movie, lol, but no that is not my choice, I will give you guys my own choice later, please try to be honest guys, This could be interesting. emkay64 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 1) Palpatine from Star Wars so I could go around yelling "UNLIMITED POWA" and zapping them. 2)Doc Holiday from the movie Tombstone...cause he was so mouthy and bad...and also cause I think I'd enjoy having a penis to try out. 3)Holly Golightly (Breakfast at Tiffany's)--what's not to love? 4)Bonnie--from Bonnie and Clyde. Fun to try out a life of crime on the run. 5) Mr. Creoste from the Meaning of Life---I wanna drink 6 bottles of Chateau Latour and live. 6) Domino Harvey--movie Domino--female bounty hunter..pretty cool. 7) Sugar Kane Kowalczyck (Marilyn Monroe)--Some Like it Hot---wanna see what it's like to have nice big boobs. 8) Sue Ann Stepanek (Tuesday Weld), Pretty Poison A true-blue American psychoteen who gets straight to the point and shoots her mother. I'm not saying why I'd like to be her sometimes. 9)Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) in Bullitt --I wanna drive like that through the streets of San Francisco! 10)Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) in The Godfather trilogy--I wish I loved my family that much ---there's many more...but these are just for fun Quote
timesjoke Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Good idea em, top ten instead of one, I was actually fighting with what my favorite would be. No fair you stole Doc Holiday in Tombstone, I loved that movie and I believe that was the best work I have ever seen from Val Kilmer. 1. John Keating - dead poets society, now that is what a teacher should be. 2. Atticus Finch - To Kill a Mockingbird, doing right is never wrong. 3. James Bond - any of the sean connery movies, swave, brittish accent, kill people, nuff said. 4. James T. Kirk - original Star Trek series, fly around the universe sleeping with all the pretty aliens, just shows men never changes, lol. 5. Joseph Donnelly - far and away, starting over in a new land with nothing but your own grit to live or die, now that is an adventure. 6. John Milton - Devils Advocate, who wouldn't want to be the Devil? 7. Neo - The Matrix, just to get next to Trinnity, wow she is hot. 8. Dr. Buddy Rydell - Anger management, I feel pretty, oh so pretty......... 9. Catherine Petersen - Black Widow, the ultimate gold digger, if I am to try and be a woman, why not go all the way, lol. 10. Fred Krueger - Nightmare on elm street, if your going to be a out of control killer, at least have a sense of humor. Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Here is my top ten, but in random order... 1. Sonny Corleone from the Godfather, because he doesn't have to appear (except in reflective scenes) in parts II and III. On top of that, besides having his hide filled with lead, he's a hothead and a womanizer. 2. "The Man With No Name" (played by Clint Eastwood) in the Spaghetti Westerns "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More", and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.". Long live cool! 3. Quint the Shark Hunter in Jaws played by Robert Shaw. Survived the wreckage of the USS Indianapolis and tough as nails. 4. Doc Holliday in Tombstone played by Val Kilmer. Kilmer's best role! Can back up his mouth! 5. Not a movie but the HBO series Deadwood's Al Swearengen because of his schemes, his intelligence, the way he speaks, and his ability with a knife. 6. Walt Kowalski from Gran Torino and played by Clint Eastwood. Kowalski reminds me of some of the veterans that I know and equally tragic. 7. US Marshall Rooster Cogburn in True Grit and played by John Wayne. "Fill your hand, you son of a bitch!" and "Young fella, if you're looking for trouble, I'll accommodate you. Otherwise, leave it alone.". 8. Beowulf in Beowulf voiced by Ray Winstone. "I am Ripper... Tearer... Slasher... Gouger. I am the Teeth in the Darkness, the Talons in the Night. Mine is Strength... and Lust... and Power! I AM BEOWULF!". Beowulf has long been a favorite hero of mine. 9. Luke Jackson from Cool Hand Luke played by Paul Newman. One of the greatest tragic characters of all time. Despite that, he is a hero to me and a character I try to emulate. 10. Ohh... god. Just about any character ever played by Steve McQueen. I am particularly fond of "Vin" in the Magnificent Seven and "Doc" McCoy in the Getaway. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
hugo Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Detective Harry Callahan. Any character who beds Salma Hayek. Antonio Banderas in Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico comes to mind. Josey Wales Lee Marvin had some great roles. He was great in "The Dirty Dozen" Rooster Cogburn Blondie (Clint again) Jimmy Stewart, "It's a Wonderful Life". Loyal friends are hard to come by. Can't remember the name of the movie with the serial killer who just offed postal employees. Sean Connerly in the Bond flicks would have been good if he had drunken Bud and wore jeans. Quote The power to do good is also the power to do harm. - Milton Friedman "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - James Madison
Ahhlee Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 In no particular order: 1) Beatrix Kiddo in "Kill Bill" - Hunting, slashing and hacking up my enemies like her? COOL!!!! 2) Arwen in "LOTR" - Beautiful, intelligent, noble and brave. Plus her faith in true love was unwavering. A lovely character. 3) The Baroness in "Sound of Music" - Sure, Maria got the man and his litter of rug rats, but the baroness was gorgeous, had money and threw "the best parties". I could handle being her. 4) Nefertiri in "Ten Commandments" - I could screw Yul Brynner!!!! 5) Angelina Jolie in anything she stars in. I like how aloof and chilly she can be. I can relate. 6) Samantha Baker in "Sixteen Candles" - Hell yeah I would lose my virginity to Jake Ryan!!!!!!! 7) Eowyn in "LOTR" - A fighter and defied the rules to do battle alongside those she loved. A strong yet nurturing and compassionate character. 8) Carrie in "Carrie" - Despite having tampons and maxi pads thrown at me in the girl's locker room and a psychotic, Bible beating mother, I could destroy sh!t....with my MIND!!!!!! Oh, the possibilities. 9) Beth Gallagher in "Fatal Attraction" - I bet you thought I'd pick Alex, right? No....I would be Beth, who is strong, a good wife and mother, the only character with a sense of decency and she gets to shoot that homewrecking bitch in the bathtub in the end. Very satisfying. 10) Janet in "Rocky Horror Picture Show" - An uptight goody-goody who gets turned into a lustful, kinky slut by aliens. Sounds like a good time to me! 1 Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 A few runner-ups that could easily replace one of my top ten choices when the mood strikes... 1. Sheriff Ed Tom Bell played by Tommy Lee Jones in No Country For Old Men. For a man who was aging and fading with the turn of the tide, he was very insightful and retrospective. 2. Daniel Plainview played by Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. Plainview has to be one of the more recent, well developed characters in cinema history. 3. Bill the Butcher Cutting played by Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York. He died a true American and he taught the Irish to speak English with his knife. eddo Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 WTF? lol I must know why, IWS. Toons killed his brother. 1. John Keating - dead poets society, now that is what a teacher should be. I so totally agree with that one TJ. I've struggled with this for a couple days, trying to figure out which characters I would want to be, and have to admit it has been harder than I thought it would be. but here goes, in no particular order: -Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder)- He got to drive NASCAR. That is so what I would love to do. My need for speed would needs this. -That guy that got to feel up Alyssa in "Embrace of the Vampire" DAYUMMN! -Sam Witwicky (Shia Lebeauf inTransformers)- hot girlfriend and a transforming Camaro. Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot! -Dread Pirate Roberts (Cary Elwes in The Princess Bride)- a man that would do anything for true love. I really hope that I can be close to that for my wife someday. -Indiana Jones- How freaking cool would it be to travel the world uncovering artifacts like that? My curious side loves the though of worlds that existed before I knew about them. -That guy that got to feel up Alyssa in Poison Ivy 2 -Colossus in X-Men- All that power. Nice. - Ferris Beuler (Matthew Broderick)- My straight-edge-follow-the-rules side would love to be able to let loose like he does, and just through caution to the wind. -Dirty Harry (Clint Eastwood) - Hell yeah. -The Dwarf in LOTR- He just had fun. and again, I would so love that adventure. ok, I lied- those guys that got to feel up Alyssa are totally tops on the list. Quote I'm trusted by more women.
timesjoke Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Good to see some of the comments and movies offered, some great ones to be sure. Indiana Jones and Dirty Harry would both be very cool to be, very strong characters. My favorite x-man was the Iceman. John Wayne, too many great movies to mention, but the gritty personality was always there. Good stuff. Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 If I had to pick one of the X-Men (from the movie, not the comic book series), I would be Beast. Beast is intelligent, articulate, and diplomatic. Yet he is feral, strong, and dangerous. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
