They are using false guilt to make us slaves to their agenda. This is like everything else the super Liberals do, they have what they want and anything that does not support their cause is ignored. Man made global warming has been proven to be without basis in fact and we are actually in a cooling phase right now but the global warming crowd saw the potential of great power to be had in embracing this false science and they are not likely to turn away from this power this close to actually getting it. Most of the time I believe politicians think they own the people, that is why these politicians show such indignation when the people voice their displeasure with what they do, like a parent cutting a harsh look at a child who has said something wrong in the parent's eyes......
