Final 'reform' push: twisting arms

Democrats Lie, Bribe, Blackmail, and Extort For Healthcare Reform

Walking on eggshells here.

And trying to be as diplomatic as possible, because I don't want to incite some drawn out word-war that seems so prevalent nowadays. With the Louisiana Purchase, Gator Aid, the Cornhusker Kickback, among others making the news; what is your OPINION on the matter? Why do you think they accepted the bribe? Do you think that the bribes will sway enough support in favor of Obamacare?

I don't know about Louisiana, North Dakota, Florida, Montana etc... but here in Nebraska it's likely to cost Ben Nelson his job, based on the reaction across most of Nebraska.

His constituents made it known and quickly, that they weren't happy. That's why he tried to back peddle and claim that he thought it would be for every state. (unfortunately, if they actually do a reconciliation, it's likely to be for every state)

The entire process is tarnished, and it will hurt those involved in the short term and unless it's repealed before people start getting to suck on the govmnt teat, will likely be permanent.

Even the more conservative minded Democrats (blue dogs) still see 'social justice' as their real goal, they want the Government to play Robin Hood otherwise they would not be Democrats.

But, at the same time they like to live their life of being one of the elite and stay in office too so there is the problem.

The many obvious and the much more less ovbious bribes are to ease those jitters of being tossed aside in the next election. Some are thinking special deals will make their States overlook their votes, others are getting promises to help raise money for their campaigns, more are getting promises of new jobs if they lose their elections.

The only thing that matters to them is Obama get his victory.

Look at Zell Miller. He's not a "Robinhood" type

Intelligent people think...

how ignorance must be bliss....

idiots have it so easy, it's not fair...

to have to think...

WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO BE AMONG THOSE FORTUNATE MASSES.....

Hey, "Non-believers" I've just got one thing to say to ya... If you're right, then what difference does it make, it wont matter when we're dead anyway... But if I'm right... Well, hey... Ya better be right...

As in the Georgia Senator?

I don't know him directly but I just looked up his voting record and he missed about 12% of his votes and supported a lot of very liberal legislation.

I will give him credit for supporting things like faith based welfare but he also voted for many welfare increases as well.

I guess once again I have to qualify my comment, while some are better than others, all the Democrats support welfare programs from one sort to another. Looking at the votes this guy tended to like some welfare reforms but also voted for increases in ohter areas, that is reshuffling the welfare, not reducing it.

He voted yes on adding sexual orientation to the hate crimes list, there is another great example of how even this moderate feels it is Governments responsibility to fix society with this kind of 'social justice'.

Why do you think Rep. Bill Nelson was targeted?

I assume that since they accepted the bribe, they know that they are on the way out of office, and they'll vote "YES" as promised... yet out of spite.

What really sucks is, for the majority of his career, as the Governor of Nebraska and later as the US Senator from Nebraska, Ben Nelson has pretty much kept the ear and known the will of the constituents that he represents.

Ben Nelson, like Bob Kerry before him from Nebrask, has often been the thorn in the side of the Democrats.

I hope he got quite a bit for this vote because if they convinced him that the people will forget that he was the vote that moved this out of the Senate, after all the rest of the abominations of the Constitution, he's been misled or lied to. Ben Nelson won't see another term in office.

Well it is obvious that these votes are purchased, it would be funny as hell if someone can figure out how to prosecute these guys for bribery, technically that is what this is, maybe even blackmail if you think about it.
