Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I mean certain people on this forum are going to classed as too young to listen to certain unclean songs. What're we going to do about this? Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Surely it's against shoutcasts terms or something? Or can we have a disclaimer somewhere? Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
NLstyle Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 just nothin, its just our choice if we are too young.. they are on the internet, parents will know what they do when they let thr children on the internet Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/34d02f76d3693666a8da3285b42ba847.png Robert Nesta Bob Marley [Today 08:03 PM] Jordan: Bram, lol. I'd like to see you run a forum. If you could even link people to it.. I mean, I'd have trouble understanding what you were saying regardless... "plz join mi foryum. www.lawlenglish.nl"
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Like I said though, isn't it against shoutcast terms, or streaming laws? Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
TehByte Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 It's down to us what music we broadcast and at what time, as long as we have a disclaimer warning listeners that adult language/content, whatever you want to class it as, will be played on the radio there's no need to worry Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/4b7c167989fcb2576ec6734d8fc09f65.png "I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done.." - Buddha | My Profile | Message Me | http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/afe9fc48e7c419d8083d4c0f4a15ee85.gif

TehByte Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 No problem, if you've got any other problems instead of posting them here and cluttering the forum just ask me on msn Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/4b7c167989fcb2576ec6734d8fc09f65.png "I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done.." - Buddha | My Profile | Message Me | http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/afe9fc48e7c419d8083d4c0f4a15ee85.gif

Kieran Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Could always do a warning before the song saying that the song containts strong language. Or we could could do songs with strong language after a certain time when all the lil kiddies gone to bed. Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/93adc9a0a8c925655eab7b9575f88bde.png
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 It could be called, Kieran's late night "songswithfuckloadsofswearinginthem" show! Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
Steve Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Could always do a warning before the song saying that the song containts strong language. Or we could could do songs with strong language after a certain time when all the lil kiddies gone to bed. your 12, you are a lil kid lul Quote
Kieran Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 your 12, you are a lil kid lul So, I can handle it. Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/93adc9a0a8c925655eab7b9575f88bde.png
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 I'm pretty sure most 5 year olds can handle a bit explicit material. My 4 year old brother swears, and listens to Eminem. Josh Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Best thing to do in this situation is check what country the radio is going to be hosted in, then check the related laws regarding streaming music or radios. So let's say if it was hosted in England and all listeners must be at least 16 or whatever then make a disclaimer saying explicit content, 16+ You only need to disclaim what you can get done for, and you'll go by the laws set in the country it's hosted in. You get me? Quote "Josh is awesome, he has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants." - Tehbyte
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Fully understand. One thing I'm really worried about is the streaming license. We need a license to stream, not to mention, we have to have permission to stream by the artists. I don't think it's been stressed enough, and it's a really serious problem. TehByte Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 All we need to do is add a disclaimer at the bottom of the page telling users that explicit language may be used throughout shows and that we don't control what content our DJs stream, it's up to them what they stream. If you wanted, I could even create a system where a user has to read the disclaimer before hand and agree to a TOS, but they'd only have to do it once. Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 I've seen that before. You can just modify that vB rules mod. Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
Steve Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Yeah but what if people have already registered? And you dont need a license from the authors to stream their music if you bought legitly? Quote
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Nope, you still need permission regardless of whether or not you've bought it or not. And it does ask registered users Steve. Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
Josh Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Nope, you still need permission regardless of whether or not you've bought it or not. No you don't, as long as you say you bought the music off iTunes of whatever then they can't do shit. Quote "Josh is awesome, he has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants." - Tehbyte
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Surely Apple were clever enough to put in a proof of purchase system in there somewhere though? Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
Josh Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Surely Apple were clever enough to put in a proof of purchase system in there somewhere though? I think you're thinking too much about it. The radio's gunna get 100 listeners max, it's not worth either party's efforts just for a forum like ours. Quote "Josh is awesome, he has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants." - Tehbyte
Tyler Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 I'm thinking outside the box, just to make sure it's all kept inside the box, if you know what I mean. Quote Kind Regards, Tyler. vBNT Radio Manager http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/08a610cb65a9498230ae5c3ab0c64b45.png
