Last Christmas when I drove to Dallas from Orlando, I was taken aback when I saw all the churches in the South, I had forgotten. You couldn't swing a cat without hitting one. I felt closed in by it. Luckily I don't often get them coming here in my neighborhood. Talk of religion makes me feel as if someone is trying to trap me, control me and brain wash me. Try being an atheist in the Southeastern United States and still retain humble, common sense type values. Folk here believe that the Bible created the laws of mankind. Secular humanists have, by and large, exchanged worshipping God in favor of worshipping the state. Religious leaders serve as a balance of power against political leaders. This is why tolitarian governments either attack religion (i.e. Stalin, Mao) or utilize it (i.e. Islamic leaders, popes between the 4th and 18th centuries). IF Osama was found to be in Afghanistan and the Armed Forces went there the Muslims would be pissing and moaning about that as well...Am I wrong?? If what I have read it too be believed, we deserve what we got on 911 because we have supported Israel.
