Guest StephenB Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 You're welcome to dislike OneCare since it is far from perfect and security suites are very much personal preference based on experiences, etc. The handling of Automatic Update monitoring with the simplistic requirement for "download" and install immediate or at a specified time being the only valid choices to be in good status is also a reason to complain about OneCare, but you were never at risk for hiding hardware updates. If, however, the updates were offered incrrectly by WU as Important or Critical, OneCare would have advised that updates were missing. And, that is assuming that AU was set to one of the required choices. Had you configured AU to any other setting, OneCare would make the status "at risk" without even knowing what updates were available for the system. -steve "Gordon" <gordonbparker@yahoo.com.invalid> wrote: <span style="color:blue"> >"Luke Savage" <Luke Savage@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >news:9F4030E7-0C37-42DF-8B96-B688CC83F6F0@microsoft.com...<span style="color:green"> >> Amanda, >> I would recommend Windows Live OneCare 2.5 to novice and professional >> users.</span> > > >Not for me.
