Windows Defender in sleep mode

New HP laptop with Vista installed. My Windows Defender is "on" and set to

scan at 2am each morning. However, there is no record of a previous scan.

Does Windows Defender scan while in sleep mode or do I need to change the

start time?

Any help appreciated style_emoticons/

No. Your computer would have to be ON. No processes or services will run in

standby.

I sugest you change your can time.

Since this is a home computer not necessarily live at any particular time I

will need to manually scan from time to time. Thank you
