Guest halwizardoflittle Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Windows defender is giving me an alert that reads as SUBJ line says whenever I go to connect or disconnect to a network and it lists MSWSOCK.dll. What change was made? I click on the bubble that pops up and it either goes away or the configfree selection box pops up. this has been happening since I installed the Winows Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936330) update a few days ago. what did it (the service pack 1) do and how do I get the alert to stop popping up all the time. Guest robinb Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 In WD go into tools/options Scroll down where you see: "Choose if windows Defender should notify you about" Uncheck Software that has not been classified for risks" Scroll all the way down and click "SAVE" If that doesn't resolve it- then also uncheck- Changes made to your ocmputer by software that is permitted to run Make sure you click "Save" again robin "halwizardoflittle" <halwizardoflittle@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E6608A02-4CDF-4D37-AA09-E16A30EF9A20@microsoft.com...<span style="color:blue"> > Windows defender is giving me an alert that reads as SUBJ line says > whenever > I go to connect or disconnect to a network and it lists MSWSOCK.dll.
