Hi, could anyone please tell me if a file in my system32 folder called

"asr_ldm" is dodgy. The company name associated with it is "Microsoft Corp."

whilst I've noticed Microsoft files normally show the name "Microsoft

Corporation".

It's probably genuine:

Mine also says Microsoft Corp.

At the same time, if you really want to make sure that it's not genuine, and

not replaced by a file with the same name and properties that actually does

something dodgy, I'd suggest that you:

- Reboot into a trusted operating system (potentially some Linux live CD)

- Calculate the MD5 checksum of the file

- Compare it with the MD5 checksum has found in the link above
